New i3?

https://bmwi.bimmerpost.com/forums/a...1&d=1648645561

This is the poster of the Long Wheel Base X5 on-line debut in China.
However, if you look closer, there is another model at the back. It is postulated to be the all new i3 Sedan.

Stay tuned!

The on-line debut will be:

Saw a spy shot yesterday that showed a bit of the front end. So... the new i3 will be built on the G20 chassis (like the i4 is on the G24) and will apparently show what the LCI will look like (is what I'm getting from this).

I wish it was the same size as our current i3 but I could see me order one of these nonetheless.

If the teaser silhouette if the iX1 being launched late this year is anything like the actual car, I might trade in my 2020 i3s for one of those.
While the i3 has about 300km range, the iX1 will have 410-450km range, which will be a good improvement.
There are cars out there with much more range today already, so it depends on the looks, gadgets and price if this becomes a real contender.

I think the IX1 is the replacement for the I3. Seems like the Swedish site has already added some info regarding the IX1

https://www.bmw.se/sv/alla-modeller/...2/bmw-iX1.html

Excuse the horrible translation from google :-)

In the new all-electric BMW iX1, the innovation from BMW is combined with the flexibility of the BMW X models. The spacious, yet compact, BMW iX1 is equipped with fifth-generation innovative eDrive technology which delivers both dynamic performance and long range. The exciting sporty exterior conveys visual confidence. Combined with the latest digital interior technology, the new BMW iX1 offers a smooth driving experience for anyone looking for adventure in everyday life. The launch of the all-electric BMW iX1 also means a brand new BMW X1, of course also as a four-wheel drive plug-in hybrid.

BMW iX1: Power consumption in kWh / 100 km: 18.4–17.3 (WLTP) *; e-range (WLTP) in km: 413–438 *. Preliminary calculated vehicle value based on current development status.

The current X1 is 4.44 meters long. I am guessing the new iX1 will be even longer. That is a big car to replace the lightweight sub 4 meter i3.

If you read the article I posted, you are right.

While the X1 F48 is 4.45 meters (175.2 inches) long, the X1 U11 could stretch to 4.60 meters (181.1-inches), as per the report. That significant increase of 0.15 meters would benefit the wheelbase, translating to a more spacious interior, and the flexibility to intake a large battery pack. If the X1 grows as much, it will be dangerously close to the X3 (length: 4.70 meters or 185.0 in.). The speculation of the X1’s dimensional increment is supported by the new Mini Countryman that is ascending half a segment in the new generation.
