Another innovation is that, believe it or not, it costs the same as an X5 but it feels like you were sitting in a VW ID4.

Wow 83.2k starting price. That's a pretty penny.

I still don't get why bmw made the exterior look like a giant i3. The i3 was universally panned as an ugly looking vehicle. They should have based the exterior design off their best selling SAVs. I totally would have been in the market or considered this if they based the exterior design off the universally praised good looking x5

Why do most car makers think they need to come with all new (ugly) styling for their electric cars?? Give me an X5 with the exact same look as the current model. This thing is so ugly it hurts. It's almost like they want electric cars to fail. Outside the Taycan and Audi equivalent there is no EV out there I would want to spend my money on - everything else is bland or downright repulsive.

If BMW focused on making this thing look like an X5, they'd have a winner. But they just want to make sure everyone knows it's a weirdo electric car. Audi is doing it right and they'll surely outsell this car.

The more information becomes available about iX, the more I am inclined to believe this is a 0.7 version of what the vehicle ought to be. Will wait for iX 2.0 but consider i4 first.

Same here. I don't know how BMW gave the green light on this fugly looking box of a car. Who ever approved this thing shouldn't be in that position. Unbelievable!

I really want to sit in on the design meeting to see how they decided on the current design of current-gen BMW's and the LCI's. I really do.

I hear you! What were they thinking?! I have the G05 hybrid and it's a good looking design. It seems that the ignorant people that gave the go ahead are a bunch of yes people. They don't have the balls to say it's ugly!

This is getting old. Every time a post from this forum made it to the front page, we get a bunch of people coming here attacking its looks.

Count me out.
I don't want it to be just another X5 (and I am driving a G05 X5).

The verdict is still out, and we'll see which designer got it right.

I agree. I prefer a modern looking car with innovative tech.

The i4 is a HUGE disappointment as it looks like a 440i with a battery pack slapped on. Completely BORING!!!

The iX at least is unique though it is still far behind other electric vehicle. I hope it's not going to be another case where BMW thought it's the best thing since slice bread only to be mocked by Sandy Munro.

Unique does not mean it has to be ugly. The i8 was unique and good looking. The IX is just ugly

Let's just say it's YOUR opinion.
There is no point repeating this ad nauseum in a dedicated iX forum intended for potential iX buyers, and those who are interested in the iX.

I wouldn't want it to look like another X5 either, BUT I think it'd sell quite well. Honestly if this car would tone down the grills, it'd be a decent looking car.

BMW has totally lost its design skills. This is so ugly. I love my BMW PHEV and would like a BMW BEV when I am ready to replace my 530e but at this time, I think I will end up looking elsewhere. What a shame.

I was at the UDE yesterday. I still dislike the bugs bunny grills on cars but there was an IX on display and the taller, fatter grill design fits the taller, flatter front end much better. While I would still prefer a more horizontal grill design, it is not that bad on the big SUV.

I love the looks of the iX and even though I also like the X5 a lot, I don't agree they should just keep the same look for a brand new EV.

EVs need to look different because they represent the future.

But I do agree the front grille is a bit too much and I wish they would have toned it down after the initial bad reviews. It does look better than on the i4 though and it grows on me, so by the time I get my iX, I might love the front as much as I love the rest of the exterior.

Interior is awesome all around.

Exterior is ok. The problem is the interior - it’s like you’re sitting in a cheap vw.

Still… Porsche managed to make their taycan look unique from inside and outside. And it’s not ugly.
