OS X offers much more to advanced users out of the box, IMO. Other than gaming and some business applications, it's difficult for me to think of a reason to prefer Windows over OS X. Keep in mind I'm not taking hardware into consideration here, just the OS. I do agree that Mac fanboys are irritating though. Hell, they piss me off, and I use a Mac just like you. Oh, and the Mac thread is turning into a circle jerk. I'm staying out of it.

i know...any mac or iphone thread on this forum, and there is usually one new thread about either almost every day, turns into a bunch of dudes sitting around spooging themselves about macs and how super uber they are. really f'ing annoying.

i work with a guy that's a super mac fanboi...he has a wife and kids, but loves to very publicly talk about gay sex acts he has done or wants to do about as much as he loves to talk about his mac. he epitomizes the mac fanboi to me.

So people are passionate about a company that plays a big role in their life. If I'm not mistaken it's no different than you joining a BMW community forum. You can say computers are just computers, but then cars are just cars as well. And you can take it even further when you look at sports fanatics...which can be considered even worse. When did a sports team benefit your life in any way besides provide a few hours of entertainment? Fanboyism exists everywhere and with everything. Just because you aren't passionate about your computers, no need to hate on those who are.

i'm an IT manager, brah. i work on computers nearly 24/7. if i didn't have "passion" (which that word related to computer is gay in itself) for computers, i wouldn't submit to sitting behind one all day, then come home just to sit on it some more.

for the record, i like my macbook pro, the construction and build quality is great, but i hate the people that love to sit around and compare dicks about their macs. it's obnoxious and it's everywhere like herpes at a whore house.

That's fine if you feel that way, but in reality you are insulting like 90% of the people on bimmerpost because they are all doing the same thing on these boards, only switch Apple with BMW. I'm by no means denying the fanboyism that exists in the mac community and sometimes it can be excessive. I just don't see how it's any different than what goes on around here relating to BMW.

Thanks for making this thread. I am typing this on a uMBP right now but find nothing special about it compared to my Win7 desktop. I could live without a Mac but the opposite isn't true...usually once-twice a week, I find something (other than gaming) that requires a PC to do.

Nope. But I do think the iPhone is the all-around best mobile communication device on the market right now. But I don't expect everyone to agree with that. It's not without it's faults, but I think it does more things better than most of the competition. I feel that having no physical keyboard is a weakness and strength depending on what you do with the device.

You should name some of them. Aside from things that specifically require Microsoft technology (activex, certain windows media files, etc), I find that there isn't much left that can't be done on any OS these days.

Glad I found this thread. I was thinking about switching to a mac but this thread's just made me feel so much better...

On a serious note, of course people are going to be talking about Mac like it's the new trend. I mean it is in a sense but since only like 5-10% of computer users in the world use Mac, they gotta talk about it like it's the best thing since slice bread.

No this has been going on since the 80's. It's nothing new. People act like mac fanboyism is a trend. If so, it's the longest trend in the history of trends.

If you think a MAC is better bc of malware and spyware your a fucking idiot, if u have half a brain and go to google and type "best anti-virus" and do a little search...you will never get any kind of malicious items even if you try to on purpose...people are too dumb, cheap, and lazy to. ive sold computers for awile since im only in college and i deal with retards everyday...

p.s. im running kaspersky and never can get a malicious item to pop up on malwarebytes, EVER
