He is subject to all laws of ordinary citizens.

Far as I know, I don't think he could carry off duty either - that right?
I assume he could apply for a permit. But agree he wouldn't retired. He'll confirm with the facts.

Especially around larger cities, just being a cop could be interpreted as a need for protection of life (own life that is).

A carry permit here in Canada would be in very rare circumstances. I can't imagine it would be granted to cops just because someone might not like them very much...they'd have to prove their life was in danger.

I'd love to be able to carry if I was walking back in the bush...I guess I could take the shotgun maybe, not sure, I'd have to look it up. But I'd have to be quite certain I knew where my property was...minute I step off it, I'd probably have problems.

Mind you we're talking restricted weapons - revolvers and pistols.

You can take your shotgun and rifle anywhere.

Not exactly - I can't really go walking around on someone else's property which is my problem. I have a little over 2 acres, with probably half of that wooded, but that portion backs onto a 55 acre parcel that is all wooded but privately owned.

I'm not too certain where my property ends, and theirs begins. Technically, I shouldn't walk their property, but there are no "no trespassing" signs that I see yet, and I doubt they'd care anyways, provided I wasn't wandering around with a firearm without their permission.

Plus, we just had a coyote cruise past the house about 40 ft away the other day, and while they are not that big, I'd certainly prefer to have something bigger than a nearby stick in case I run into a pack back there. So that keeps me fairly close to home.

Carrying off duty was a grey area, I always carried to and from work but generally not other times, although its a matter of getting permission from your department as long as you can justify the need.

Carry concealed can be granted to persons who can get permission from the Chief Firearms officer of the province, but they are rarely granted, I am only aware of a few.

Wrong, drinking LOTS of water has adverse health effects. Drinking whatever X amount of water per day is a myth. One should only drink enough water to keep them from being thirsty or dehydrated.

It doesn't make me feel good. Just full and heavy. "I don't think that's right!" My granddad, a military retired, taught me to drink very little. It was tough, but I appreciate the outcome! I only drink a lot of tea just because I like it, not really need that.
