Eucalyptus Wood Interior
I love the Eucalyptus interior, anyone have it? Does it really look as nice as it is in videos? Worth getting the package and spending a few bucks extra?

Just got my 2015 Tera on Monday which has the Eucalyptus dash and I really love the look of it. It adds quite a nice level of luxury to the car. Several people have already commented how nice it looks. If it fits your budget I would say go for it!

When you gents mention Tera, is that with the Brown full leather interior? I had that on my i8 and loved it. On the i3 its a pricey option, and I can just go with the Eucalyptus and that yellowy mustard half leather (which I actually like), correct?

Do you have any pics? My budget is a sub $200 lease so bare bones here as a 2nd car/basketball dad vehicle.

Thanks for everyone's feedback.
I got a price on a basic i3 with 10k miles per year, 2 year lease for $190. Lease payment all at once, plus $1500 dealer fees. The price on a REX was $225. hmmmm…. |

I have the eucalyptus with Tera. Nice contrast and keeps the cockpit from looking like a dark cave. Light colored headliner helps as well.

I'd go for the Rex and the giga. That's what I have. I like the eucalyptus, I just wish it didn't remind me of a cutting board.

I really like it as a feature on mine (giga trim). Also part of the natural/renewable/recyclable construction of the i3 (major feature that gets overlooked).
Last week my i3 had a full interior detail and I noticed the richness in the eucalyptus trim has returned since they cleaned it with something more than my regular microfiber cloth wipe. |

Sounds like a good price, but if the car has bigger battery, if the BEV makes since in how you'll use the car and live in an area with good charging infrastructure, it is lighter, faster, and handles better than the REX.

I am picky with wood in cars in general (prefer CF), and eucalyptus's extremely porous surface looks like cheap Ikea furniture to me. Brown "leather patches over light grey cloth" is the default interior color for Giga and Tera, but you can choose other colors. I had it in a few loaners, and the leather patches on the drive seat were showing signs of wear/scuffing. It does not seam to be particularly durable, though loaners do lead a hard life. Not the interior color combo I would choose (and I didn't), but to each his own. a

I absolutely love the eucalyptus wood. I have it with the Giga World and honestly I prefer it over the leather, which gets too hot and sticky. The mustard leather accents are more tan then yellow imho and it goes very well with the eucalyptus to brighten the interior. I've had several passengers comment how "relaxing" it is in my i3, and the eucalyptus I think has a large role in it. The porous look really tied in the whole natural aesthetic.

Normally I would agree. I hate wood interior trim. My F80 even has cloth carbonstructure interior, although I do like the leather trim. The i3 is similar, it's a similar durable cloth blend with leather accents. The eucalyptus wood is not traditionally designed to be "trim", it's more like a dash top. IMHO it works quite well mainly because it isn't glossy, and it's light.
