Any BMW Charge Forward program experiences?
I just got invited to the next phase of the BMW Charge Forward program. I found out in 2015 BMW i3 owners were invited for the pilot program.
I'm not exactly sure whether this will mess with my home charging schedule. I only have a weekday departure plan in the morning, mostly for preconditioning. My default charge schedule is set such that car only charges between 12a-3p daily (weekends included) I would be annoyed that my car does not have a full charge on a weekend bc I don't have a departure plan set and the charge forward program determines what time to charge the car. Also note, I'm a 45e owner. I have a 240v 16a home charger that does a full charge in 5.5 hrs. I typically don't deplete the 17 kwh battery.

It appears I'm a good candidate for the program based on my low utilization of my battery capacity on weekdays, my long charge window and departure schedule.
However, my weekends are exactly the opposite behavior. My car gets heavy use and often times I'm at home mid day topping off on a charge while eating lunch, etc. My main goal is to have the highest possible charge on weekends. I even over ride the charge window recently as my peak rates still is cheaper than paying for gas. Anyways, if you've participated before, I'd like to learn of your experience and feedback |
