Unhappy Serious glitch - car went non-functional

Hello all, need help here.

Went out to drive the i3 this morning, but the doors wouldn't unlock.
Hazard lights started flashing.
Tried locking/unlocking the doors with the fob (doors were all locked) - no response.

The proximity/capacitive sensors inside the door handles didn't respond either.

Used the physical key from inside the fob to unlock the door, alarm went off when I opened the door.
No way to shut off the alarm.

It finally reset itself after I shut the doors and gave it a few minutes.

Fob still wouldn't work then, either fob (tried both by this point).

Tried to turn the car on, but it would just say accessories still active,
Drivetrain error, ABS error, drive slowly.

Car had about 40% battery ( no REX).

We had to leave it sitting.
Car was just at the dealer last week for brake fluid and a state safety inspection.
It drove fine after the dealer service.

Any idea what could have happened overnight to cause the car to glitch out like that?
Anyone with a similar experience?
Ideas on how to resolve it?

Any advice appreciated.

Sounds like the 12V aux battery failed. It's a wear item, and usually fails like clockwork every 3-4 years. You can change it yourself rather easily, but finding an AUX18L battery locally is going to be a challenge. You don't need to code/register the new battery to get the car operating again, and the jury is out on whether you even need to do that at all if you don't have a scan tool.....

I removed the frunk and hooked the aux battery up to a charger.

Further research has convinced me that you're right, @vreihen16 and that I need to replace the battery. So I ordered a replacement for overnight delivery. I'll post again when the car is fixed.

12V AUX batteries are the Achille's heel of just about every EV on the market, and the failure point seems to be 3-4 years. Mark it on your 2025 calendar for the next battery change, so it doesn't leave you stuck somewhere.....

I should also add that most of the symptoms you observed above also happen on every recent ICE vehicle that I've owned when the battery voltage is low due to impending starter battery failure or a low battery from sitting too long without being driven.....
