Is there any options with this car or is it just one model? Base MSRP?

I would love to see one in person if my local dealer gets one. I'm sure there's gotta be at least one norcal dealer who will have one

In the US, it's fully loaded at base MSRP. The only two announced options, Laser Headlights and Carbon Fiber Wheels, are not DOT approved so sale and probably won't be offered here.

I got my name down on the list but who knows when or where this is coming in. I thought it might actually be fun because I want to keep my R8 and compare it the i8 ...

My local dealer (Crevier) is getting 8 i8's for the first year of production (most are spoken for and will be sold to top customers at MSRP). I learned this today at the i3 event that was held at Crevier BMW. To date I believ this is the largest confirmed allocation in the US.

Email from my dealer today stating their allocation may be delivered by the end of June. Probably a lot more info in the coming days as the press gets their hands on it during an event early this month.

Carac, any idea when ordering will begin? Taking into account build time and shipping, an end of June delivery would suggest orders need to be taken in the not too distant future.

I've been told the big press event for the i8 is March 11th in Vegas and sales associates are getting their "i" training assignments as we speak. Shouldn't be long. A minimum 2 month lead would be my guess. We're 4ish months away.

I already told mine Sophisto Grey, Dark Giga interior, dark headliner, and Style-625 Turbine wheels.

I am in Chicago and my dealer has no idea on first year allocation. I put my money down last year and am expecting another year at least before it will be my turn, but who knows. No idea if I want a car in a different color than white, which was the car I sat in during the Autoshow and I loved it. You are all better prepared than I am.......

Deposits, orders, options and allocations

I'm #5 on my dealers list and he said they have about 40 people on "the list". They've been keeping a list for about a year. To be fair, he said they will go right down the list and if anyone says "no", they'll go to the next person and take deposits at that time. They are supposed to get eight cars for their initial allocation, spread out over about the first 6-7 months. They're telling me I should expect a car about October.
No official order guides are out yet and the options info is still unofficial, but expect minimal options.
Supposedly some of their staff got a private reveal yesterday, in Orange County, CA.
I'm thinking the dark gray/blk color combo, with larger optional wheels/tires. I'll probably flip-flop a hundred times before my actual order!

Just put down a deposit for an i8. i'm 18th in line so probably won't get it until next year as my dealer said they are getting approximately 8 i8's this year.
