No, as I said in an earlier post, my handicap is that I am dying of emphysema, on oxygen 24/7, and can't walk very far, but I do the best that I can.

My wife and I wanted the sunroof and ordered it that way. We are glad that we did. You don't have to be seen in it, so why should you care
Sorry to hear about the emphysema, but just ribbing you about the sunroof. At least you got the right color.

Not surprised. Multiple cards, lost cards, extra cards, cards for people with disabilities.

Remember the cards are for the handicapped not the elderly.

I own three cars. Am I not allowed one for each car? That would mean I have three.

I was stationed in California, Thailand, Germany, Spain, Turkey, Italy, Texas. Flew F-4s in all but Texas. Flew F-4C, F-4D, F-4E, slatted F-4E, and F-4F (German model).

You would have 1 placard and move them to each car as you drive or are a passenger. I believe it's one per person unless you have a label on your license plate.

I spent one winter in South Dakota and was on crutches due to a fractured ankle. One evening I was on my way into a restaurant, negotiating my way across the parking lot in a blizzard with -20 temps. As I approached the restaurant door, a small car pulled into the handicapped spot near the door (I didn't have a placard, so I didn't use it) and four college aged twits jumped out and started racing for the door.

I stopped in my tracks and stared. The driver saw my crutches, turned around and called his friends to follow him to the car, and drove off.

South Dakota no joke grew up there. Some cold ass winters and been snowed into house and tunnel out before.

In Texas you get one per car. I have 2 cars - they gave me two.

In PA you get one per person. My folks have them -- deservedly.

Most of the people I see in the handicap spots at Sam's Club are not elderly. Same with the ladies who park in them at one of my office locations. They have placards, but they hop right out of the car (a bit smugly to my eye) and stroll on into the office. Not my business and all that but I think they have a soft hearted doc somewhere.

I got out of a ton (like 20) parking tickets since I hadn't had the approval to park (basically stop) in one but I had a legit reason (paperwork had been done) so stop in a handicap "loading (this must be one of my worst moments to run out of vocabulary!) zone" .

Even now, almost five years later I lose my shit when ever I see a person without a pass parking in to one. It's always a big fucking fu towards people who absolutely needs them.

Happy new year Shakira. Let's keep arguing for more years to come!

Sounds like a rich career. My stepfather was based at Danang. Flying is dangerous business. He told me a story about a Navy driver who came into his hospital still in his seat and burning (i.e. Willie Pete)

I am a veteran and I am disabled, but I am not a disabled veteran. My disability was not a cause of my military service. In addition, I couldn't have a personalized plate that way.

MENTALLY handicapped doesn't count

Mom has a placard. I once limped into a Dodgers game but when we left there were still plenty of open blues

I hate seeing my dad pop the placard on then scurry into the grocery store

I have a legit card due to legit reasons. But nothing you can see whatsoever, when I walk to or from the car I look perfectly able. In addition to that I drive a nice blue M2. Since many people over here seem to think "disabled and elderly people surely only have boring cars" I obviously MUST be a cheater. I don't enjoy much when people look at me strange, upset or angry when I get out or into my M2. I have even been verbally attacked with not so nice words.

Sorry, I'm just venting a bit...

I feel you on this one. I need both hips replaced and my ortho gets on my case about not having one but my pride wins out over good sense most of the time. My brother had a stroke and we use his if I'm with him and when people see the i8 or the M6 they start fuming and/or bitching until his cane appears. Then the apologies start.

Good luck.

Maybe Texans are nicer. Maybe. I have never had anyone say anything to me when I park the M4 in the handicap slot. I guess wearing an oxygen hose probably helps
