Oh yeah my everyday glasses I got from Warby Parker and love them. They're my go-to anytime I'm buying something off of an insurance cycle.

For the sunglasses I just got, my optometrist's shop was having some sort of sale and then my vision insurance has a higher allowance if I buy from the same place, so it ended up being I think $150 out the door for exam (including contact lens fitting) and new frames/lenses. Seemed more than reasonable and I didn't have to go to another store again.

These are the ones I got: https://www.mauijim.com/US/en_US/sho...tCode=766-02MD

I wear Costas for driving, but I also do a lot of water sports which is what they are really made for. I only have experience with their 580G (glass) lenses but they are awesome.

I'm kinda big into sunglasses, wallets, belts, etc. My favorite sunglasses at the moment are my Persol 2747's in black. Now that I see the price has dropped significantly on these since I bought mine, I may grab a pair of the Havana's too (https://www.persol.com/usa/0PO2747S--95-48) If they are good enough for Steve McQueen and James Bond, they good enough for me dammit.

My favorite driving glasses would be my 7 year old Ray-Ban Predators. They are just extremely light, comfortable and fit my face perfectly. I also have several pair of Oakley's (5 sqaured, Wirez, Scalpels & Gas Can) but I only wear them when doing yard work and some type of outdoor sports/activities. Personally I feel unless you are a police officer or a professional volley ball player, buy something other than Oakley.....although my prescription glasses are these. https://www.oakley.com/en-us/product...t=888392078285
I like them a lot, plus they’re CF so they reduce weight! HAH

I wear Oakley and Costa for outdoor activities and use the RB’s for driving.

I have a set of Oakley Holbrook sunglasses I wear when wearing contacts (one day a week when I play golf).

At this very moment I'm at the optometrist, updating my prescription. Considering my trusty Oakley Crosshair sunglasses were stolen, I'm shopping for a new set. About to head over to the Oakley store to try stuff on. Considering these:

Maui Jim Kanaha,

Polarized, but absolutely great driving lenses. I have a pair of Ray-Ban 4115 (also polarized) for everyday wearing that I don't mind driving in and a whole bunch of Oakley's for sports/activities. But the MJ's are awesome for driving.

Always love my Oakley X-Metal Juliet's. However, picked up a pair of Maui Jim's at a golf tourney and wow. Really impressed.

agreed on MJs. i've been a boater / fisherman my whole life and was also a lifelong polarized ray ban fan. four years ago i bought my first pair of MJs and it's unbelieveable how well they cut down glare and reduce eyestrain. being on the water all day really challenges any sunglasses. i now own three pair of MJs (one amber and 2 blue filters), and my last pair of RBs are relegated to lawn mowing duties.

Really nice glasses and noticeable relaxing for the eyes. Especially on the water.
Still have it but due to the polarization I can't see the HUD with it.
So, in for new glasses and happy to see some inspiration and experiences with the HUD.
Reminder, the OP is looking for non-polarized options due to HUD.
Or polarized options that work with HUD, but numerous other threads on the same topic show that HUD and polarized lenses don’t mix well.

Used to wear my MJ Kahuna’s while fishing, the polarization is very good, quality great then I realized I couldn’t tie knots wearing them. Finally sank through this thick skull that I needed readers.

At the time MJ’s didn’t make reader sun glasses so I bought a pair of Costa Deep Blues with readers. The polarization is very nice and I can spot dolphin( mahi) pretty easy under flotsam and I can tie all the complicated knots with them no problem, as long as the lighting is good.
Still love and wear my Maui’s often just not fishing.

I have a set of MJ I love too - super light and forget they are on, but all MJ are polarized so driving with a HUD sucks ass with them. Looking for a pair of UP for the X5 HUD. Leaning towards the Oakley Holbrook and the Oakley Holbrook Metals. LOVE the look and feel of the metals, but the reviews are not great and no replacement lenses.

glennQNYC - did you know a lot of places make pop in prescription lenses for the Oakley Holbrook? One reason I am leaning towards them over the metals - even though I like the metals better. You could buy the ones you like and then some pop in prescription lenses when you want/need them and not pay Oakley $400 for the prescription lenses - which I think is insane.

I'm really partial to Oakley's for non-polarized. The problems I have with Oakley are trying find the right frame size with lens colour/combo. It's kind of overkill how many options they have, but if you find the right pair ... they are great glasses with fantastic optics.

I did not know that! My Holbrook's are my non-prescription specs for when I wear contacts, but that is great to know. Thanks.

MJ kind of work with the HUD. It isn't totally blocked out. And you just have to bend your head a little to see it better, don't need to bend 90 degrees. So if you fully want the HUD, then no go. If only for back up and an occasional glance, then you can get away with it.

My MJ kill it 98%. I don't have to go 90 degrees to see it, but pretty close. Very annoying. I can move them to my convertible though and buy a set of NP for the X5. I have a set of NP cheap reading sunglasses with 1.5X in the whole lens I got to test my theory and they are working great. If I could get a good set of quality sunglasses like this it would be the best of both worlds.

Interesting. I wonder if it is a specific MJ model or the BMW model. Or completely random based on the alignment of the polarization. Maybe some people can see it completely fine.

Might be my Mr. Magoo vision too? I forget I even have HUD when my MJ's are on. If I turn to look at a mirror or something I catch a little flash of it and remember, that's about it.

A few pairs of Ray-Bans and Oakleys in both regular and polarized forms. I leave a pair of non-polarized in each car so I can see HUD. Oakley are plastic frames for sports and more relaxed look. Ray-Bans are wire-framed modern aviator styles.
