Talking Pure Impulse event - Going Green - anyone here going?

I am attending the Pure Impulse DRIVING event, Going Green in Lake District. Is anyone else attending?

https://www.bmw-i-pure-impulse.com/events/going-green/

From the description:

10-12 JUNE 2016.

You will explore the mesmerising scenery of the Lake District National Park in your own BMW i8 during a scenic drive specifically designed for BMW i Pure Impulse members.

A beautiful country hotel will be the starting point for your driving adventure. The craggy mountains and smooth-as-a-mirror lakes will provide plenty of photo opportunities before you break for a seasonal lunch. Back at the hotel, a surprise afternoon programme awaits.

Gourmet dinners on both evenings will provide ample opportunity to relax and catch up with your fellow BMW i Pure Impulse members – and exchange the best pictures from the day of course.

This event includes the following benefits:
·Scenic drive in your own BMW i8
·Surprise afternoon programme (weather permitting)
·Two dinners at Stove Restaurant & Bar at Langdale Hotel and Spa on the two evenings of the event
·Lunch at Armathwaite Hall
·Complimentary use of swimming pool, spa bath, sauna and gym facilities at Langdale Hotel and Spa
·Free on-site parking
·Free in-room wifi

Probably more bang for the buck than the 2GB thumb drive we got with a video of i3 production...

I got 2 thumb drives, a letter of thanks, a letter of apology (since the letter of thanks thanked me for buying an i3 rather than an i8) and a 1:43 model i8.

Was added to the UK base spec at or around the time the base list price was increased by about the additional value of the pack - Pure Impulse came with all the options here and the majority of the early cars came with it by virtue of the factory scheduling. So as I understand it there was no negative impact on anyone? Some people may have snuck through early without pure impulse and without the price hike but that is a minority.

I for one did pay for the PI pack but do not regret it, pulled my build date forward a few months and have been on a load of these events already: visited Leipzig for factory tour, Munich, London event at Royal Albert hall, Monaco Formula E. Always a have a nice time.

Anyway, if anyone is travelling up from Kent and wants to convoy up for the drive North (and timing suits), let me know

Happy to also link up en-route, if timings work with anyone

I'll either be heading up from Southampton or London depending on how things pan out nearer to the time. I will send you a PM when I know what will be happening to see if meeting on-route will work.

Post My route

ok Ryan

At the moment my plan is to depart at noon, as I've only taken the afternoon off work. If possible I might get away a little earlier.

I believe rooms at the hotel are available from 15:00. Leaving at noon would probably get me to the destination around 17:30.

In case it helps anyone link up, my route will be M26, M25, M40, M42, M6.

Is it really your decision though?

Fortunately I'm not that interested in football, but even if I was, I know what my wife would say if I picked the packet of crisps option

So, looks like about 12 cars showed up? Not half bad. I bet that turned a few heads...
