Clean power surge protectors are the same to me as scotch guard protection at the dealer, sure they work I guess but overkill IMO

I'm not talking about the clean power claims. I'm talking about the basic function. I'll have to ask my neighbors if they had your run of the mill surge strips providing outlets to their nuked equipment. I seem to recall they did.

You can think an ACME surge protector would have done the same. I have proof the Monster surge protector I used protected everything that was plugged into it as it happened to me. Not I heard of someone that it happened to. In addition, a few weeks later, I installed a whole house surge protector in the main panel.

I check the other 2 and it smoked ALL three of them on separate circuits - yet didn't trip a breaker or harm anything else. Told my neighbor and he said it got his smart thermostat and his trickle charger was also tripped, but when he reset it it came back on. All 3 of mine are dead.

Must have been a strike between our houses. I have a ethernet ground port on the way to me now.........

I can empathize with you. My luck is that inanimate objects and I don't get along very well, like I'll pick up a shovel that a friend has owned and used for years and the handle will break before I even start using it... stuff like that. ALL THE TIME.
