Help Wanted: Just lost the speedometer/odometer display
Lost everything on the front display regarding speed, miles, gas, power, etc. The radio/phone,etc mid console display is still fine---did I press a button? Any suggestions??

I had a similar problem, display went blank, which required replacement and reprogramming of the entire instrument cluster. Took approximately 1 1/2 weeks to repair due to parts being flown in from Germany.

Had the same thing happen to me 2x already about 3 months apart. No big deal, just reset the car and everything should be back to normal. My HUD has also gone blank a few times.

Did that, no luck yet. The irony is taking my 2008 M3 out for the first time after winter today; has 83K miles on it, original battery....and once again, started up the FIRST time after storage (no trickle charging ever).....I love the i8 but this M3 is ever amazing.......

I've had my '15 i8 since February, but just experienced this same issue yesterday. However, the display info reappeared after restarting (this affected the HUD as well). For those who had to replace and reprogram the instrument cluster, how many times did you go through these cycles of disappearance/non-display until you decided to go into your dealership to replace?
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feedback. |

It happened to me, as well. I had to cycle the car 2x's before it came back.
I am taking the car to the $tealership on Friday for a door seal replacement and will inquire about the problem when it is there.

All is well with the display again after a few restarts....hasn't happened again. Just had the 1 yr check up and nothing was amiss.
