Pedestrian Warning Noise
I know you can turn this off through the vehicle settings menu but is there a way of making 'OFF' the default state? I prefer stealth mode

It's hideous I didn't specify it on my i8, I just select sport to alert unobservant pedestrians.
On my i3 I've assigned a number key to switch it off/on |

Strangely I cannot seem to find any option to turn on/off anywhere on my 2015..in the owners manual it says settings/ pedestrian safety ( or something similar) but once under settings I see nothing regarding this at all...and I don't really hear much of any sound while in EV mode at a low speed. Would not mind a cool UFO sound like the old Fisker Karma..lol

The US-spec i8 does not have a pedestrian warning system.

It is a pain. You can turn it off in the UK. But every time you restart the car it reverts to the hum Wished i had neve bothered with the speaker... £90 option!!
I* wrongly assumed you could choose either and keep!! |

Cracked it - or at least made it very easy to turn on and off. You can programme one of the "radio" buttons to be an on/off switch. Just select the pedestrian noise feature from the settings menu then hold down the radio button of your choice to programme it. Once done, that button then acts as your pedestrian noise on/off button - sorted!

That is an awesome tip! I had no idea those buttons could be programmed for non-radio functions.
I just set one up to activate "hold state of charge". I always found it annoying to have to go through Menu - Settings - Auto eDrive - Hold state of charge when I wanted to save the rest of my battery power for later. On the Pedestrian Warning: I've tried it several times - on and off, at low speeds, in quiet areas, with the windows down - I can't hear a darn thing. Is it just hard to hear when you're in the car, or is mine not working? |

Btw I use the buttons also for the navigation functions e.g. home or phone numbers. |

Thanks for the tips, I would rather prefer to have numeric button pad to use phone or enter radio station number etc than the buttons you mentioned .
Speaking of the pedestrian warning , I happen to hear nothing as well. I dunno what is missing |

I think what ChiTown meant was that he has certain contacts pre-programmed onto the radio keys. For entering phone numbers, the touchpad works like a charm - you don't even have to look (like you would on a keypad).

I'm in Switzerland. It was an explicit option and I went for it (like some of the UK guys on here). I can toggle it on and off. I just can't tell the difference.
