is this my bad luck, or most of them are fucking scam?

i just got severely fucked by yet another one, who took my money, spoke a bunch of game and did not do a single thing for me, except sending me 2 fancy letters and a very very confusing invoice, while acting like he just did me a huge favor....

I hear ya. I went to court to reduce a "speeding in a construction zone" ticket. To make a long story short, I could have done the same damn thing the lawyer did for me w/o paying him $300. oh well, you live and you learn.

Most lawyers are a waste of money unless it is something really big or really small (like traffic stuff) and the small stuff is only good if they have connections, which most of them don't.

i would be happy with it was $300. This one was $2500... for NOTHING.

before that my divorce lawyer was $5,000. he just sent his assistant to the court with me,
and the assistant did not open his mouth once. not once.

You know you can question/fight atty's invoicing practices as well as their general ethical practices. Attorneys are expected to be held more accountable and to a higher standard. If you truly feel that you have been wronged, bring it up with the Attorney first then contact the state Bar association. They regularly discipline lawyers and it is all recorded on their permanent public record (searchable by name and bar number on state Bar website)
