What could warrant a 6 car police escort???

Saw it tonight. 6 police cruisers, 3 up front, 3 behind, siren blaring, blasting up the carpool lane on the 405 north freeway during peak traffic hour, with an unmarked white van in the middle blinking its emergency signal. What the f*ck was that????

Anyone has any idea what/who could get that type of escort??? It had me thinking that a nuclear bomb was about to go off and they were getting some high level government official the hell outta there.

Around my area, I've seen 3-4 squad cars pull over someone for minuscule things like tinted front windows.

Yea I once saw 4 or 5 troopers escorting 2 suburbans tinted out and strobe out on I-85. I thought wtf is goin on

My supervisor saw 8 LA County Sheriff cruiser escort just ONE fire truck on I-210...
which the freeway's average speed is already 75mph...and the fire truck can hardly keep up to 60mph.....

plus the fire truck itself for sirens duh!!!

6 ? i saw 11 CHP cars on 405 at around 7PM yesterday, all of them in the fast lane, during heavy traffic.
