Closing the Offical BMW i Forum

That's pretty much all you need to know about BMW NA's commitment to the i-brand and EVs.

It seems BMW is going to abandon the electric vehicle project. Perhaps I should just give up on trying to figure out if it's worthwhile owning one.

They are not abandoning EVs in general, just treading water, and focusing on the Hybrids.

Which may (and probably should) cost the current BMW CEO his job:
"BMW AG Chief Executive Officer Harald Kruegerís job is on the line over concerns heís not aggressive enough in steering the luxury carmakerís titanic shift toward electric and autonomous vehicles, people familiar with the matter said."

This is probably more likely that BMW does not want to be in charge of a customer forum. The last thing they need is a public record or any major issues and that's what forums can be- owners looking for answers to problems. This forum is great and has more readership than the "official" one anyway.
