F1 race at SPA...

I watched just finished watching the race. It is one of the most dramatic ending I've seen in years. Kimi and Lewis traded places more than 5 times in that race determining lap (lap 42) when the rain just started to fall. As a Lewis fan (I know, since I own an E92 I should cheer for Kubica), I am so glad that he won. But the question is was the pass fair? Did he back off enough? He, after all, did initially passed off the track. Although he did back off slightly, I reckon that the speed he carried sealed the deal at the hair pin. I know Kimi crashed, but if Kimi was up front in clean air, it might play out in his favor. Was Lewis at fault?

Are you kidding me? If I was a dictator of a small third world country, I'll make it a crime punishable by death from a firing squad not to watch. It blew me away!

HAHAHAHAHA......."Ferrari’s Felipe Massa has been declared the winner of Sunday’s Belgian Grand Prix after McLaren’ Lewis Hamilton was handed a 25-second time penalty following the race. Hamilton drops to third as a result, with BMW Sauber’s Nick Heidfeld moving up to second place.

Hamilton was penalised after stewards decided he had gained an advantage by cutting the final chicane in his late-race battle with Ferrari’s Kimi Raikkonen.

The decision means that rather than extending his championship lead over Massa, Hamilton now sees it cut, with the Brazilian trailing the Briton by just two points, 76 to 74, with five races remaining."

I am a Lewis fan. Actaually I am Mclaren Mercedes fan.
I think the Over taking was fair.
I know Lewis was handed a 25Sec Penalty. This is Complete BS. This is what I don't like about F1. Ferrari can do any thing and they will get away with every thing. Even all the commentators said that it was a fair over taking. I don't know what race stewards saw.
I am sure this is just a dent in Lewis's quest for the championship. He will hit them back.

I am a Kimi fan and I hate to admit that the penalty for Hamilton is unfair. He gave the position back and just kept on Kimis gearbox. Kimi could not handle the damp conditions and Hamilton was going to nail him sooner rather than later.. for the first time ever i will admit that the brit deserves the WDC for his epic drives. Kimi just lost the plot really

As per the BBC Mclaren is going to appeal. However F1 ITV says it can't be because it is a time penalty. I hate this.
Keep the politics a side he seserve to win and he drove a better race.

Fuck the FIA....
If I remember correctly, the sporting regulation only stated you cannot gain advantage on position by cutting corners. Apparently Hamilton did gave the P1 back to Raikkonen.
What??? the FIA wants hamilton to put a full stop and stop the engine?

But....I'd say the stewards did a GREAT call!!!
(If their plan is to ruin a great race like Spa...they totally succeed it!!!)

So Kimi Raikkonen should be penalized too...
If Hamilton did not cut the chicane, there will be an accident...
And Kimi DID "pushed" Hamilton off the course, Lewis had to cut the chicane in order to avoid an accident....

we've seen TONNES of drivers cut the chicanes on various courses to avoid accidents (especially the first few corners on the first lap)....i don't see them getting penalized a lot...only a few who gained a track position and didn't give it up immediately.....

Quote:
16) INCIDENTS
16.1 "Incident" means any occurrence or series of occurrences involving one or more drivers, or any action by any driver, which is reported to the stewards by the race director (or noted by the stewards and referred to the race director for investigation) which:
- necessitated the suspension of a race under Articles 41;
- constituted a breach of these Sporting Regulations or the Code;
- caused a false start by one or more cars;
- caused a collision;
- forced a driver off the track;

- illegitimately prevented a legitimate overtaking manoeuvre by a driver;
- illegitimately impeded another driver during overtaking.
Unless it was completely clear that a driver was in breach of any of the above, any incidents involving more than one car will normally be investigated after the race.

That is such bullshit. I think the old rumors are true...that the FIA always seem to decide in favor of Ferrari whenever they can...yet another example. Total BS. I am starting to think I should not watch the races to boycott, but like they would fricken care.

I feel sorry for Lewis... for some reason, the FIA always seem to work in ferrari's favor... recall the piece of body flapping off kimi's car? But it's a good thing... with Massa and Lewis this close... it'll be a fight to the end of the season!!!

Wait... will kimi be the "supporting driver" now?

Kimi spun out and handed the lead to Lewis on a silver platter. Hamilton won because of his superior skills; his off track adventure at the chicane had no effect on the final out come whatsoever. The FIA gave the penalty just to be a tight ass as all sport governing agency should be. (But for some reason - however obvious it might be -the tension in their anal cavity always seem to relax when Ferrari was in question.)

While the FIA is busy making diamond by shoving pieces of wood up their butt, we, race enthusists - Hamilton fan or not - question the fairness of their decision. I personally think that a 25sec penalty after the race is simply unfair. Lewis backed off completely after Kimi went out. Unlike a drive through, the post-race-25sec did not give Lewis a chance to make up the time. Who knows, Lewis might still make third if he hadn't cruised to the finish.

Aside from the FIA with all their diamonds, the true winner of this decision is us, F1 fans. With Massa just two points behind Lewis, it will surely be a good fight for the championship. The only question that remains is whether the Brazillian can deliver when it's time for him to shine.
