Lol Doug. Useless reviews for 'car enthusiasts'. The ultimate reddit man.
His basis of the performance of the car is laughable. 'Where are all the electric sports cars?? Tesla has proved you can make an electric performance vehicle that out accelerate...' Doug, who assumes the ultimate goal of a sports car is for on ramp merging, is completely oblivious to what makes for actual performance attributes of a car. Tesla has proved you can't make an all electric sports car that can go around the ring without it going into limp mode. Doug is good for learning about cup holders and that's about it. He didnt even realize the engineering challenge of mounting the butterfly doors to a windshield in a coupe or that the engine and e motor operate in a special way. Can't help but sigh seeing how popular he has become. |

As I said long ago in these forums, compare this car to an Aston Martin.
I said - and Doug is now saying - it’s like an Aston Martin grand tourer car, except it looks better, is faster, more efficient & more tech than most Aston Martins. That’s why he says it’s more desirable than an Aston Martin. |

Aston Martin makes some of the most elegant and beautiful cars in the world. I think you would have a tough case saying the i8 is better looking...
..and FASTER, really?

DeMuro did a video years ago where no one noticed his Vantage b/c no one cared, whereas your average Joe/Jane can’t help but takes pics/videos of the i8 because they love the look. DeMuro is right. The i8 is more desirable. Last edited by orion1977; 08-29-2018 at 08:13 AM.. |

Why are you limiting your comparison to a '14 Vantage?

We can compare a '16 Vantage to a '14 i8. Doesn't really matter. i8 is quicker, looks better (for most people), has more hi-tech, and is much more efficient. I'd rather have it than a Vantage any day. Last edited by orion1977; 08-29-2018 at 02:55 PM.. |
