Not following you. I’m saying in my use case it works: cheap electricity, spacious private garage, 60 mi/day. You’re saying in your use case it doesn’t. I’m certainly not advocating the iX for everyone.

Keep in mind that I’ve had two teslas prior. I sacrificed range and ease of supercharging for a luxurious BEV.

Perhaps you should give it a rest or sell the car and grab something that does work for your lifestyle… ?
I dont wanna spend any more money on this stupid thing than what I already have. I can manage with the IX as my secondary car than my primary. If Im gonna lose 20-30K on this by turning it in, might as well elase another ICE and drive that. Since i already have one, gonna use mine as a back up. Whats true is this car isnt gonna stay after the lease and no BEV unless the ranges are better

Yes, this is getting to the core issues that you have: you don’t like the car, and you’re financially upside down on it. I get that, this is exactly how I felt about my model Y.

The last thing I would want to do is depend on public charging and planning that into my day. I hate going to the gas station for our other cars and do it early on weekends every few weeks. Prior to the iX I was dailying an M3 and hit the gas station twice per week. Now I have all the power with ease of use and save the sports car for the weekend.

Fair. Everyone has their thing figured out for themselves. I can get free juice at work occasionally. And EA is free another year. A nice perk.

If I had .07/kwh rates I’d be tethered to the house.

My bill this month was $750 for electricity -and not from the car. It’s been cold and we’re all electric. NatGas is also expensive here. So, gotta use less if I don’t want to pay!

Woah. That’s insane. My bill averages $250/mo for electricity with the car and $100/mo for natural gas.

LMFAO this has to be the worst comeback ever. You are only making yourself look dumber with every post. Maybe it’s time you go to bed, it’s obvious I got you all triggered and worked up. Maybe go for a drive in your iX to calm down before you supposedly run out of range in 60 miles

Yeah 750 is no joke I was paying like 350 a month, now it’s pretty much zero since I went solar.

It is insane. 2500 kWh was consumed in this small house in cold cold January.

But I digress!

My friends in California do solar, it’s fantastic. Unfortunately our HOA forbids solar panels which is insane

Wow many states have laws forbidding HOAs from restricting them. That sucks!

It really does. Our state has had legislation proposed to overrule HOA’s but nothing has been passed.

The other crazy fact here is nearly half of the electricity in our state is derived from natural gas.

It feels like corruption and monopolistic behavior, but it’s more likely archaic HOA behavior that doesn’t want the look of the neighborhood to change.

If it’s covering 80% of your use then how are you getting a 750 electric bill?

Same issue with HOA and not worth investing the $ with the risk of fines. They have the power to put a lien on your home, so it’s not worth it. The other reality is ROI here on solar is >30 years due to the cheap kWh.

I thought the iX does have rack anchor points and BMW does offer an OE rack system compatible with Thule?
