I've been lusting for an i8 Roadster ever since they went into production just over a year ago. I didn't want to pay MSRP, so I've been patiently waiting. Well, the opportunity came in March for a great deal on the car, so I ordered one. It took approximately three months from order to delivery; I took delivery last Wednesday.

I've only put 100+ miles on it so far, but I'm loving every minute I drive it. It's the first convertible I've owned, and also the first plug-in hybrid. I'm very pleased so far.

Very nice stable and Congrats on the i8! I have over 20,000 miles on my '16 i8 and it still puts a grin on my face every time I drive it.

1967 Corvette Coupe under the red cover and 2008 E92 M3 (with 16,000 miles) underneath.

I didn't realize the Diplay Key was an option upon delivery through US Dealers. Do you mind if I ask what they charged you?

The same question about the display key; tried to get one on my 2019 i8 delivery but they said is not standard

The display key isn't an option, I had to do some research and talk to the Parts Manager at my dealership. They were able to order the key and code it to my new car. MSRP of the key is about $600.

I too have a '19 Roadster but my dealer is telling me that, according to my VIN, this part won't work for my vehicle. Very strange as I find it hard to believe BMW would enable this feature for some '19's and NOT others.

I think your dealer is brushing you off and doesn't want to deal with ordering the key. You might want to try another dealer. The key should work for all 2019 i8 models.

Works on my 4+ year old car.

It looks like that part number works with 2016-2017 i8. What year is your i8?

Also, I'm in the USA; not sure if different part numbers are country specific.
