Post BMW squandered it's e-drive and Carbon lead

What i8 owners have known for the last 3 years!

"Reithofer …. embarked on BMW’s initial electric car push, which led to the i3 and i8, as well as the huge investment in carbon fiber production. BMW, basically, had the early lead on battery-electrics but under Krueger, failed to keep that momentum going."

Agreed... having been the visionaries who released the i3 and i8 back in 2013/2014, they have now fallen behind many of their competitors.

In reality, besides adding some plug-in hybrid capabilities to a few of their existing models, all they have managed to do in the last 5 years is to modify the i8 coupe to produce a roadster.

Seems such a wasted opportunity for BMW. Very disappointing indeed.
