What's the best place to look for a low mile privately owned I8 for sale?
I've recently looked around in the usual places like Autotrader, Ebay, Cars, Cargurus but don't see a lot of privately owned cars for sale. I kind of wish there was a for sale section in this forum.
I'm really looking for a coupe under 5k miles and any leads would be largely appreciated! Al |

I guess it will be mostly the new model with that kind of milage. I think most people use it as a daily and most cars from the old generation have been driven for 2-4 years.

My coupe has 4K miles and lease expires soon. BMWFS will sell the car to a dealer at Market Value and they in-turn can sell it to anyone except the original lessee. Original Lessee or anyone with the same mailing address must buy the car at the residual value. I wanted to buy the car. That is why you do not see a lot of private sellers for the i8 as no one would buy the car after lease expiration.

Good point. I don't think BMW will want to sell me the car for what I'm willing to pay. I just missed a Protonic Blue 2015 with 900 miles, asking was $69k, single owner car with no stories. That's my high data point but I would like to find one for less.

Don’t be too obsessed about the mileage. The engine may only have been on half the time anyway so a 10Kmile example may only have 5K IC engine miles. Ones that’s had only 900 miles is never going to have been meandering around a city on electric. More likely taken out for blasts on an engine that never gets up to temperature.
