iX order back-outs?

Anybody received calls/emails from dealers asking if they want to purchase iX's that were orders where the original owner backed out?

I've had 3 in the past week, from 2 different dealers in the LA-ish area (Sterling & McKenna). I didn't expect to get any of the sort, so my wife and I leased an X6 last month..

Wondering if maybe higher interest rates has anything to do with it, or maybe markups? I left a voicemail asking about the price, just to check but haven't heard back yet.

I asked my guy at Peter Pan if he could get me an i4 M50. He said: no, but would you like an iX instead?
So I stepped into an order that was about 1 month from delivery. Totally a hit and miss thing to have found this.
Picking it up tomorrow or day after, car got in to dealer last night.

Yes I'm also taking iX 40 2023 order in Canada offered by the dealer recently. That was a surprise since I was just putting a deposit in. Perhaps production picks up or just some one-off allocations popping up.

Many people have put down deposits on multiple different BEVs, and some could be backing out in favor of a vehicle they wanted more. I am still trying to decide if I want to go through with my order once the allocation comes up. Super annoyed that, from all appearances, BMWNA sat on iX M60 allocations all of June in order to wait for the price increase July 1st. While it is "only" a $3700 price bump, it is annoying on principle, and lack of communication regarding what is going on with allocations (unlike the very clear communications I am getting from Porsche on my Taycan allocation) is poor customer service.

I purchased mine as a backed out order. Dealer called after I expressed interest in placing an order and said "hey, we've got one in and the guy who ordered it decided not to go forward."

I was fortunate enough to get an order back-out of an iX, that also had the Bowers and Wilkins. Is there a reason people are concerned about this? The car is fantastic and so are the reviews. I'm lucky someone backed out.

If you thought your EV purchase was somehow an appreciating asset, and are now backing out because it might not be, then maybe you need to reset your expectations on car purchases.

I think it's just too expensive and spartan inside.

Got a text from my Dealer last evening (Waiting for our 2nd X545e) asking if I'd be interested in an iX - Was 4th in their iX Order Bank too...

Drove up and for the 1st time looked at/sat in, the iX - Wrote a check and drove it home... Very nice - But not quite as Lux as our 45e.

The B&W Sound is beyond my ability to describe it... My butt is still tingling from the 1hr drive home.

Lol ... interested to get more of your perspective on the I20 v G05 as I bought my wife a 45e about 2 years ago, loaded with all options except the advanced cruise control that she refuses to use!?!?

The I20 will become my DD after I return my company lease in 1Q-2023 as they will stop providing exec vehicles ... happy to step back into a nice DD

I dislike the ACC as well, for one major reason, people cutting you off on the Interstate causing it to slow down more and more. It is normally less stressful to use, but cross country travel gets sort of annoying. Have it on my G01, did not spec it on my 9Y0 Cayenne, nor is it being spec'd on my Taycan 4S CT.

Sounds like there are quite a few iX being purchased this way, good to know. If an i4 comes my way, may pull the trigger early. My reservation was told probably wouldn't make it in 2022.

In the LA area I saw 2 iX at Sterling BMW and 5 in stock at Pacific BMW, both dealers which contacted me. Good luck to those who want one if they're still available!

My understanding is that both of those dealers want retarded ADM, and therefore will likely be sitting until the find the right sucker, ahem, i mean buyer.
