BUT - does it have a big grille and can you push on the roundel in front to put washer fluid in it? I haven't heard that nearly enough on YooToob....

I don’t think this is true. People who opt for the M60 model over the cheaper iX 50 obviously care about the extra performance and acceleration. Performance SUVs are both fun and practical and are therefore getting more and more popular.

Perhaps, but equally (probably) the included features as standard and the fact that they (maybe) can get it faster. Performance is a plus, and the (minor) range hit is a minus. Parking Assistant Pro would be a plus for me as well - on track for a 50 or would have switched, but happy we might be able to add it OTA..

Please feel sorry for me. I'm taking delivery of a Tesla Model Y in a few days because I have no car while I wait for BMW to get its act together. The dealership sent me a form in April showing my build, it looked one of those vehicle locater sheets. Dealer rep keeps saying "we haven't had any M60 allocations in the last month" even though, since April, apparently three ahead of me were built.

This process is terrible.

You should drive an EV. In a real world situation (not launch control), by the time your transmission kicks down or you downshift, the iX will be gone. Even an M4 Comp xDrive will need a fairly high speed run to catch up. It is pretty real-world fast for what is a non-M X5.

Obviously, some of the Teslas are faster than this.
I drive same one as this, and m4 comp, m4 is significantly faster, at least get like it
Rollout acceleration, which is what non launch control is like, is still good half a second faster to 60. Granted m3/4 you have exhaust sound etc that make it feel more but still

It is non the less impressive on bmw part to have first electric suv and be in 3's.

Curious to know how many SUVs with similar size and cost are faster than IX.
I didn't compare or said it's slow, I just said tern stupid fast doesn't really apply when all other M cars are faster. M3/4/5/8 are in the high 2's.
That I think is stupid fast for a regular cars

Yes, I think so, given the X5MC is "only" 5093 lbs and does it in 3.7; and the portly iX M60 is a whopping 5769 lbs and does it in just shy of 3.9 ... I am impressed.

I've had "real" ///M cars in the past ... given I do 15-20k in miles annually, I wanted something more efficient that allowed me to travel in HOV lanes during obnoxious rush hour traffic that I commute in 2x daily, and was still fast and fun to drive ... the iX fit the bill

Not tons of options in this size class. Obviously the ///M coupes and small sedans will be quicker, but they are too small for my needs / current purchase
