Chargepoint Home Flex disconnecting- flaw

I've had a Chargepoint Home Flex for 2 1/2 years now, and it's been trouble free, except this week. I've noticed it's been dropping it's connection to Chargepoint servers, and flashes white (instead of green). Using my router (Eero) app, I can see it's on the Wifi network with a full strength connection at 2.4 GHz.

Called Chargepoint this morning- they said "it's us. Lots of customers reporting." It's been doing this 3 days, and when this EVSE can't reach home, scheduled charging doesn't work (it charges immediately) AND the max charge rate drops to 16 A (mine is normally 48A).

I wish this wasn't designed this way...

Luckily it's an EVSE that can get firmware updates. After this issue maybe they'll update it to work better in offline mode.

Mine is hard-wired so I can charge at 11 kW. So I figured I'd get a 60A 240VAC switch, and have position 1 be Chargepoint and 2 be a NEMA 14-50. That way I could use the BMW charger when this happens.

But I don't think I can. Because you are not supposed to wire a 14-50 to any breaker higher than 50A.

It would be nice if it had local memory to store last settings in cases like this. But I don't think it can? A google search revealed this has happened to multiple customers several times before...??
