So I think I've just bought the cheapest i3 on earth but with cheap there always comes problems!

Let me preface this by stating I am by no means rich nor poor but simply a person who likes to find value in items that others no longer appreciate. I'm currently 41. My first bmw was an 86 325e with a broken timing chain in grade 10 of high school. Bought it from my father's friend and had another friends father install a motor I bought from the wrecking yard. I've been driving bmws since I've had my license but never bought one new always a broken one nobody else wanted to deal with. Probably 10 or more.

Nevertheless I was currently driving a '12 X1 with 28i and sold it when I saw this. Buyer said he was driving and heard a noise and coasted to a stop. Took it to the dealer and was told he needed a new Eme and electric motor $23,000! Logic would determine cut loses and move on. But me being able to source parts and a DIY guy saw this as an opportunity to learn electric cars in which I have zero clue about but a lot of time to learn.

Bought the car for asking price in May 2022. Had an ordeal getting it home as it doesn't move and had a dead 12v.

Good project
probably only 1 fault item its just the process of finding it
search for and download the relevant sections of BMW group university technical training "I01 High Voltage Components" etc.
NewTis.info
I use Esys for checking status
ISTA is the full BMW service (you probably already know) havent been able to use this one

Just a bit. Old age caught up with my back and I haven't been wrenching. But I've taken apart quite a bit.
