So couldn't pass up a deal 2015 bmw i3 with rex for 14,999$ with 14000 miles on it, with my trade car will cost me 1000$ bucks. So my question is besides getting it coded (anyone know who codes in Houston?) What other advice would you guys have. Second question my neighbor has a spare Tesla wall charging station that he is willing to give me for free. (Not a thread about tesla vs bmw), will i be able to charge my bmw i3 with that wall charger? Is there an adapter i can get that would work? Sorry newbie electric car owner and i pick up my i3 next week cant wait sooo excited!!!!

Congrats! I loved my '15 i3 REx!

Tesla has its own plug, but you might be able to get an adapter. Other options are the level 2 chargers on amazon. Got mine for $150 and provided you have the right outlet in your garage, fully charges in 5-6 hours.

Things to code for:
Full gas tank capacity
Range extender menu (to turn on anytime after 75% SOC)

Out tires are pretty unique. You don't have much choice if any on what tires to use. Thankfully they aren't super expensive. You can get them cheaper at costco. America's Tire will also price match.

Check at http://chargenow.chargepoint.com/ to see if your VIN has been used to redeem the 2 years of free charging. You might get lucky and save some $$!

Vin not eligible but still signed up for an account. Really excited and will look into adapter. Do the mirrors folks automatically when car is off our is there a button. I know it can be coded via fob but what is other way?

The mirrors fold when you press that button on the door panel. You can code it for remote folding or comfort access folding.

Thanks man , what are the ideal coding options? Gas tank, hold charge? What else. And i know this has been discussed do u recommend keeping a gas container in frunk if im traveling far and what brand or where to get? Thanks

If everything goes well I'll be picking up my i3 tomorrow. A little nervous cause I'm in Katy Tx and driving down to Plano to get car which is 255 miles from me so on way home I'm gonna have to find a charger or 2

Also I'm curious, is the car CPO or no? If CPO, when is the warranty good until? There's a local 2015 REx CPO for $16k, warranty good thru 05/01/21, just curious how that compares as I'm considering picking one up.

Everything went great, picked car up at night, the only thing that sucks is there is 2 long key marks on the side. Didnt really notice them when i bought car and from far u cant see but when up close u can. Any good scratch repair kits that actually work?

And i have warranty until November 2019 and dealership gave me free 100k extended warranty but who knows what exactly that covers

Congrats on the new ride! Ouch on the key marks though! How deep are they? If it's only the clear coat then a polish and wax by a good detailed can fix that up. I had two large marks on my door of my M3 that disappeared quite easily. If it's very deep I'd call the seller and see if they can correct it, especially if it wasn't disclosed. Did I read correctly that this was CPO? They shouldn't be selling a car with key marks if it was CPO. They usually fix it before certifying it. Good luck!

Was able to get one of the key marks out with quixx and it lessoned the other one. Thinking with touch up paint and light sanding it might look better. 2 shops quoted me 1400$ and 2100$ to repair the key marks . Way too much
