Hi anyone had this issue and can point me in the right direction please? I have a 2015 I8 which is causing concern, it notes now a warning on the central screen and dash to note gear change possible without depressing selector! This comes on virtually every time I use the car.

More info on exactly whats happening? You can shift out of park etc. without pushing the side button? Perhaps pics/video?

I belive the gear selector mechanism is identical to all other period bmw's. Any half decent indie bmw should be able to swap the components. If not just buy a new one ?
