Sitting at the port in Germany for two weeks normal??

My car has been sitting at the port now for two weeks. This seems a little long to me. Do you think something is odd here? What is everyone elses experience?

Mine went through the same thing. My vehicle is due at the US port in two days, 4/17. However it did sit at the German port for two weeks prior. I felt the same as you and contacted the I concierge multiple times to investigate why the car isn't moving. They informed me that it depends on the organization of the port authority on getting the vehicles into the boat. They also said prior i8 wait times at the port range from a single day to 2 weeks at the most.

I guess you and I are having bad luck.

Here is a little more possible bad luck: I was told that even though the max wait time on the US port is also 2 weeks before reaching the dealership I may have to wait almost an entire extra month because of the performance delivery center's available dates...what kinda crap is this.

Two major factors influence when your car gets on a boat. The frequency of ships coming in/the schedule and how many cars were already waiting for boats when yours got there. They've always got a backlog of cars that missed the last boat. And if you have the misfortune of just missing a boat and getting behind a lump of cars already queued for a boat, then you might wait 2+ weeks.

The other question would be what you're using to check. My i8 was on a boat 3-4 days before BMW's system updated to show it was no longer at the port. I knew before them because I looked up the VIN on the W&W shipment tracker. That said, I think mine sat for 10 actual days and 14 reported days.

I appreciate all the feedback guys. This wait is getting a little frustrating. I was happy once it finished production.

How do I go to the W&W website to enter the VIN to find the most up to date info?

Thanks in advance

Mine was at the PVC for almost 3 weeks before it was delivered to my dealer. The truck drove it up as the dealership was closing, without any prior warning. Luckily someone was still there to receive it.

(The Pt. Hueneme PVC is 45 minutes away from my dealership.)

Enter it into Cargo ID. Not all cars are shipped W&W, but most are.

Once it lands, expect about a week at the receiving dock and then as long as it takes the truck to get to your dealer.

Painful! But fun, fun, fun!!! Congrats!

If you find the anticipation unbearable, you can go to https://www.marinetraffic.com/ and 'watch' your ship move, as long as it's near land .
The search is even easier if you know the ship number, which you can get from the WW website.
