Anyone get a little rubber mat in their i8 upon delivery?

When I took delivery of my i8 two weeks ago, there was this little rubber mat inside (or maybe it was in the boot). Probably 7" x 10" or so. (See photo below.)

I cannot -- for the life of me!! -- tell where it's supposed to go or what it's supposed to do. It looks like it might be to cover the cupholders in the rear of the center console but it doesn't really fit there -- at all.

Any ideas?

The piece in the back console for cupholders removes and this goes in its place. The cupholders can then be put away since no back seat passengers will ever use them.

Found mine in the glove box. Either it's for placing items such as sunglasses in the glove compartment or it's meant to be utilized as an expensive nightstand organizer to coddle the iRemote. If it is the latter ridiculous idea, then I demand Leather!!!

Thanks

Mystery solved. Mine was in the glovebox, and I just ignored it

I had a curious back seat passenger the other week say "erm...you know your rear cupholders pull out don't you!", well no, no I didn't know that but I do now. Then the penny dropped that the rubber mat in the glovebox might fit that space :-)

Warning: Once you put the rubber mat in place it is quite tricky to remove if you want to revert back to the cup holders. I ended up using 3 credit cards sliding them down the edge to get the rubber mat back out.

Side Note: Did you just get the handbook in the glovebox with no leather wallet/booklet for it to live in?

Yes. And my i3 manual was the same, in that car.
