Placing my order on my first electric car!
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I really wanted the 20's but doesn't look like that's available through the website. I'm curious if selecting the high performance tire pack will come with the 20's? Has anyone had any luck ordering 22' models or is it strictly 23' models now?

You’re a bit late to the party. You are really not placing the order with dealer just putting your name on the waiting list until you get an allocation.

I have talked to a few bay area California dealers and it's about a 9 month wait. Demand is high but it seems production may be increasing. I am taking time to pick options so not done yet. I suppose if someone is ready then just put an order in.

Hopefully so. I may end up with the 23' model. So definitely won't be seeing it anytime soon

You will end up with a '23 model if you get your name on the reservation list, you'll likely get it next summer. If you are lucky you may find dealers that are willing/able to switch Phase 2 preorders to your name/build which will allow you to get it this year, but that will take some digging.

All of this assumes no changes to current legislation and when BMW hits 200,000 rebate eligible vehicles in Q1 2023. There is a slight chance they hit it in Q4 2022 which would accelerate the phase out by one quarter, but also a chance they don't hit it until Q2 2023 which would extend the phase out by a quarter. |

While I have an allocation at one dealer. Do you guys recommend I place another allocation at another dealer to see which dealer gives me an allocation quicker?

Given the current chip shortage and what not if you are trying your luck with another dealer allocation go with absolute minimum options you can live with. Common colors, basic stuff like heated seats etc. Ditch parking assistant package and fancy stuff like that. I think better chance it will get built once you get an allocation. Also if your first booking is at a high volume selling dealer pick the second one a low volume one. The wait there maybe shorter since most will overlook them . good luck

I live in Scotland myself and the roads aren't much better! Well aware you sacrifice range and comfort but they look cracking wheels, plus...you get the slightly flared aches, bigger breaks and advanced cooling I'm sure...no brainer
