I have been trying to get a carbon LED steering wheel for a little while now. Who was your supplier and how much did you pay? Trying to work with some through Alibaba. If you have a recommendation I'd love to hear it!

Beautiful wheel btw! Looking like a matte carbon fiber. I wanted a gloss forged wheel myself. How does it feel when driving?

Salut,

Merci de ton message,

J'ai acheté un nouveau volant BMWi8 et j'ai expédié ce volant en Asie (Alixepress) la société s'appel:
VLMCAR Store
https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/4000923413612.html

Wow! One would hope that BMW sees this and markets an OEM version.

What did you have to do for the LED top part of the wheel to work?

So, the wheel is more or less parts from an OEM LED wheel. The connector plugs into the clock spring/SZL, and then plugs into a control module (about half the size of a phone). From there, a connector plugs into the FRM/FEM (depending on model), and intercepts signal from the PT-Can. Essentially, you can use this steering wheel on any vehicle that has a powertrain CAN line. I'm not sure how well it's going to function with a hybrid vehicle, but it will work in some way or another.

We are together in the minority then. I think it's a cool project but zooming in on the edges of the addition it wouldn't make the cut for me in terms of quality. Also, it's not practical because shift lights don't belong to the side in a corner when you turn the wheel. I think a full circle display without a bulge would have been a nice challenge, adjusting to turning the steering wheel and always keeping the information at the same place.

However, don't get me wrong, looks very well done for the complex task and many people here like it. So congrats.
