Sorry to herar that. Totaly understand. When does the Tycan show up?
It is scheduled for a January build and February delivery, but that could always change. I was hoping to replace both vehicles with BEVs, but we will keep the PHEV and get rid of my X3 when the Taycan comes in. I still really like the iX, so odds are very high we will reorder sometime next year, or whenever supply chain issues start leveling out.

Got a call from the BMW North America Customer Relations yesterday. it's the result of an inquiry I made with the Customer Relations two weeks ago regarding the carrier assignment status delay. He explained to me that the holdup is due to a wiring harness part. Not related to the battery recall. Many functions will not function correctly without this wiring harness. I think this is in-line with what the dealership has been saying to me

Did they give you a sense of when it might be finished? Sorry for your delay!

I have been told that even if there was some repair/recall/open campaign on the iX, it would never be taken back into the factory to complete. All of the new vehicle repairs are handled by VPC at port, or your BMW dealer, so they would not be held in Awaiting Carrier Assignment for any repair. So that answer flies in the face of what has been the corporate line through this.

I was actually thinking about what you said in an earlier post regarding this when I was talking with him. My impression from the conversation is that the car cannot leave the factory without this part having been installed. But I'm not 100% on this since I was in a very noisy environment and many distractions.
Speaking along the same line , I have heard of other car manufacturers have cars lining up on their factory parking lot just waiting for one or two chips to be put in before being shipped off.

My iX 50 went into production and dispatched from the factory from last week to this week.

If BMW was short on a part you would think it would affect all iX in production.

Are the excessive delays affecting only ix 60 models?

No — mine is an iX50 and it has been held up with TXSchnee’s.

Yesterday/Friday at exactly Week-15 to the day in "Awaiting Carrier Assignment" status, my M60 switched to "Dispatched From Factory" status. Fingers crossed for everyone else that maybe this log jam is starting to clear.

HTown, what is your status now? Mine was awaiting carrier assignment since May (sounds like close to the same time yours rolled out of production), but finally made it to the port Sunday 11th (ish). Another poster in here said theirs stayed at the port for a month before making it on a ship.

TXSchnee, why are you sure you are losing the tax credit? What I have researched has me reasonably comfortable that I will be able to claim the credit because of A) signed buyers order supported by B) deposit, both dated before Tuesday 16th August (I think that is the date the new bill was signed). If the tax credit looks iffy at all, I will absolutely cancel my order as well, so I appreciate any information you can share. Cheers.

I did not have to put down a deposit, nor did I sign any type of order or agreement. I have bought multiple BMWs from my dealer and SA, so they don't require either of those things from me.

At The Port

Good morning "Greg". Good morning "thorws". At this hour the status of my M60 has again updated, now twice in about 48 hours. My status now shows, "AT THE PORT". Greg, fingers crossed that our Galveston bound iX's safely cross together!! My excitement has mostly returned. Greg, just one cautionary note. My super sweet BMW Genius from 2-3 posts back did say, " . . .once at the port I am seeing more than a handful of 6-8 week holds." Hopefully that won't be us.

Yes. I've heard the same. I'm cautiously optimistic while at the same time expecting the car sometime between mid-October and Christmas. Too many things outside of our control, but it is still good to see it out of the factory and waiting to board ship!

Wow… week 9 pal. I still check in on this thread to see how the long waiting/ suffering are going. Feel lucky that I was only stuck for 3 weeks.

Out of curiosity, what is the dealership's position on this? I started to get shouty after 3 weeks and got the escalation to logistics.

my car moved to AWAITING CARRIER ASSIGNMENT

I don't know if it was today or Friday. But since January I have been waiting for this car. I have been looking at that darn my garage for 6 months now.

But I am not going to lie. I got a little excited. But this process is taking so long..
