You may want to request holding off on the credit application since BMW's credit app is only good for 30 days, which means they will need to run another request/app on the day of signing (or leading up to it).
My dealer said something similar, but I declined the credit app piece and they understood and we agreed to not run a credit app until closer to delivery. As far as the rest, my dealer still shows me at 047, but no further updates. I'll have to text my sales person as he indicated earlier that I can still make changes through the end of this month if desired.

I think many of us will be hearing something in January. I’m wondering at what point are we told about final pricing? I know what the website pricing shows after I’m done with the build, but I’d like to see that finalized on paper.

I don't recall ever seeing it on any car on their dealership over the years. Not even now.

I am also concerned if my dealer is going to charge "market adjustment." I wonder if BMW considerer the build slot to be "owned" by the person who reserved it or to be owned by the dealer who is handling the sale. If it is owned by the person who reserved it, theoretically it can be assigned to a different dealer who would not charge market adjustment. We might be finding this out in a few weeks when more people get final pricing from their dealers.

I would call your dealers if you are concerned about mark-ups and see if there is anything you can sign to lock in the price.
VERY doubtful this thing will be discounted without rebates (BMWCCA, Loyalty, Conquest etc etc...) due to the current automotive situation and the demand for this car. In other words, if you can lock in MSRP and only that, I'd consider that lucky in the USA market.

With the pre-order and deposit dealers around me don't seem to be trying to gouge. If you decide to not take the car the next guy is going to pay.

If they hit me with an unexpected mark-up not only do they lose the sale, they lose a customer. Simple as that.

Of course you then lose the car and would have to wait another year or so before your next opportunity to get a car.
I think Motzus asks a good question as to who owns the reservation slot, you or the dealer. |
