Is there any technical detail of what are all those components for? In comparison a Tesla has an empty space in front, so where are similar components in Tesla located?

Also, any similar shots of the rear wheel drive 40 model?

Different manufacturer, different design.
Tesla needs a frunk and still does not have the cargo space of the i4.

It depends if i4(17 cu-ft) is compared to Model 3(15 cu-ft) or Model S(25+ cu ft).

It would be the TM3 which the i4 is most directly compared by most folks.

Overall dimensions put it the I4 in between the Model 3 and Model S.

Cargo space also is in between, but the Model 3's cargo space spec doesn't include the ~2 cubic foot under-floor bin in the trunk.

Another downside of using the shared architecture is the significant floor hump behind the front seats. Model 3 (and S) floors are completely flat all the way across, easing 3-across seating.

I4's hatchback improves cargo loading though, at least compared to the Model 3.

Although the i4 is longer all the other dimensions are within an inch of a TM3.

True, but also worth comparing Model Y to the i4 on the numbers, both being hatchbacks / fastback.

Some other numbers relating to the OP question:

i4 M50 unladen weight EU = 2290kg (already mentioned)
M440i Gran Coupe unladen weight EU = 1900kg (same chassis as i4)
i4 battery pack estimates vary - motor press say 500kg - 545kg
Model Y unladen weight EU = 2003kg
