Cool funny dudes talking about new and old school lifting, strong man stuff and some Crossfit/Olympic lifting. Some damn good info.
We will go through squat cycles that are similar to 5-3-1 but not really. My coach sent me the program a while back after I had just finished Cory Gregory’s squat every day program.

Barbell shrugged was great back in the day, I’m not so much a fan of it now that they switched out the hosts. They have some dr’s in nutrition on there too that are phenomenal.

Very nice....I also did Cory Gregorys squat everyday. How long did you make it and what kind of gains did you make? I don’t watch B.B. Shrugged anymore. It’s just not the same. When Moore passed away it changed everything. The old ones are classic tho.

That was my first squat program after getting serious about weightlifting/olympic lifting. So it went through the roof. Went from about 245 to 305 on BS and from 205 to 265 on FS. And I didn't do his crazy mile long lunges every workout either I can only imagine if I had.

Yeah Chris Moore got me into that podcast, he added great depth and comedic relief. One of my favorite episodes was about the marathon runner from Britain that ran 47 marathons in 47 days with a refrigerator strapped to his back and had a broken leg the whole time. All in order to raise money for cancer. True grit.

Nice gains! I did it for 94 days in a row. Only taking some rest days here and there as I needed time for recovery as I was 44 at the time. But I will say my gains were huge....went from 1rm of 365 to 1rm at 425. FS from 275 to 345! Pretty good for 5’10 180 (at tht time). And I did all the lunging! It was miserable!!!! Haaa.

I will say that I developed a bit of hip and knee pain from all the heavy volume. Even with Mark Bells STrong sleeves. So I decided to stop. But I was happy with the gains. I am still in the 400 club as of today for BS and 315 FS, at 185 bw...so it hasn’t fallen off much. Cory Gregory is an animal for doing it as long as he did!!!! My knee and hip pain went away after I stopped, thankfully.

Chris Moore wrote a few books also, good reads. I remember that Marathon guy pod cast....truly amazing and not human!!!

94 days... unreal lol. After a while I just got used to the soreness. I was in college at the time so I was working out at the gym on campus. I remember after a few weeks some dudes came up to me and said "Do you do anything besides squatting?". Wow, you got some serious results though. My BS now is 355 (stagnate ) and my front squat is 315. Sitting at about 196 right now, dropped from the christmas fluffiness at 205.

Guy left his keys next to the bench for almost 20 minutes and was no where to be found. So I started my set and saw him hovering over me and said he was using it... bruh, if you’re not there for a couple minutes, it’s free dibs. He got pissy when we agreed to work in together.

Alright so I cancelled my membership at anytime fitness but here’s a few:

1. Beats headphones
2. Smith machine quarter squats - next level cringe
3. When someone says “don’t your knees hurt?” when I’m deadlifting/squatting and then they go blow their knees out trying to do the full stack on the knee extension machine.
4. Bros benching with snatch grip width - what’s going on here.
5. Partial ROM pull ups, actually just partial ROM everything
6. The phrase “when I played football in high school I benched/squat/deadlifted *insert unrealistic number here*”
7. Pretty much everything involved with a punching bag
8. Old dudes that look about 140lb wet acting like total hard asses.
9. Pretty much everything involved with a smith machine
10. Dudes in the medical profession that feel the need to wear scrubs every single time they are at the gym - we get it, you’re a male nurse.
11. The slutty gym chicks who make their rounds with all the different bro groups.
12. Calisthenics that are way too creative
13. Bosu ball squats
14. Axe body spray
15. Muscle up attempts on curved pull up bars
16. When people try to “climb the stairs” when doing pull ups - you’re not Frank Medrano
17. Drinking excessive amounts of water

Aside from the fact that it’s insanely unsanitary to work out after a shift in your scrubs?

LOL. #6. Did this also involve Polk High and 4 touch downs in a single game?
