SMS text message not working with iPhone 7

It was working perfectly with the iPhone 6. Now it does display text messages on the iDrive anymore.

Any ideas?

Didn't work on my iPhone 6, either. So I've given up on it.

Thought that it works only on Android devices.

I don't think I've seen it work - although maybe my Watch interferes with it. That said, I know you have to enable notifications. Did you remember to enable that?

Thanks for the tip. I'll try that.

If I remember correctly (I'm not near my car atm), I can pull up the menu and see that there are messages in there. But I can't read them. It says something about content protection or encryption or some such.

The ConnectedDrive system, where you can send messages directly to your car, works fine.

Do you have special encryption setup for work?

There is coding to remove speedlocks for office functions as well as display entire text messages. But, it should be working when car is not moving.

Sometimes you need to go to dealership to get media and communication update for newer phones and operating systems. The posted usb update on the bmw website is rarely, if ever, the latest available.

Thanks for the tip. I'll have a closer look once I'm back home. But this is my personal phone - no special protections or encryptions.
