radar detector

Anyone have pics on where they mounted their radar detector? Just trying to figure out if I should install a blendmount under the mirror or a perm mount at the top of the windshield.

I use a blendmount under the mirror and hardwired the RD into the electrical system. Works great. Just be advised that the default blendmount that you get from their site for the i8 puts the RD too close to that clear light bulb housing on the bottom so they had to send me a different one that provided more clearance so it didn’t rattle on the bulb when you drive. Best bet is to call them and tell them this when you order

I am waiting for my i8 Roadster to arrive next week into port.

Will this bracket work on the New i8 Roadster?

P/N on Blendmount?

Thanks!

I did do it myself. I was a little tricky to get that cover off, have to be careful. then had to figure out which wires it needed to connect into. i don't remember which ones i used, but it ended up working perfectly.

I haven't seen the new roadster yet, so not sure. If they kept the mirror the same, then it should work.
