Currently the build has a stone grey interior but may switch to oyster. I like the idea of a softer, less cold textile interior but am worried about stains from inevitable spills and odor retention. Also may drop the premium package to convenience - the only thing I want in the premium package are the fully powered seats and memory function but it's a hefty price to pay for those features.

I'm also going to go with 22" tires because those are the only decent looking wheels even though I am in the Philly area where things might get dicey in winter. I think I would swap out the OEM tires for performance all season tires or switch to dedicated winter tires in colder weather.
I love this build. Came across this video and I can’t figure out if it’s Sophisto Grey or Dark Graphite - believe same color but diff names in diff markets ?

That is Sophisto Grey. My home dealer has their demonstrator in that colour. I have also seen the iX in person in Black Sapphire Metallic, Storm Bay Metallic and Mineral White Metallic. Personally I prefer white (which is why I ordered mine that way) but the Sophisto was my second choice, followed by Storm Bay. I would not go for Black Sapphire again since my 650i vert was that colour and it was a mare to keep clean.

Thanks Hugo. Hear you re Black Sapphire. I'm right there with you: bouncing around between mineral white and sophisto/dark graphite (believe same right?). Interior color tbd.

I love the close up of this rim (1020). Would love as good a view of the bronze trim version in daylight (1023)

this is so nice joe. so elegant, love the continuity between exterior and interior. almost like what a launch edition might look like, if there were one. think i'm down to these two

Placed my order yesterday at a BMW event at our local dealership. We currently have a Model Y performance and a BMW X3. I can’t figure out how to post my build sheet, but they told me I should have my car by the end of the year.

We went with Phytonic Blue, non sport package - don't care much for the ridgy black trapezoids, although I really like the blacked out tail lights. Optioned the 22" wheels, though. We wanted something different than the sea of grey, black and white cars everywhere we look in our neighbourhood and the car I was driving when my wife and I met was a similar colour so it has some nostalgia value. For now we took the black Sensatec but might change to the Amido leather, still thinking on it.

After a two other color choices, the wife and I went with Storm Bay Metallic. Here's a good quality video of an iX 40 in Storm Bay Metallic with the 21" Aero Bi-color Wheels. I went with these wheels for the all-season tires, plus all four wheels are the same size (not staggered).

I have two quick questions. Are we going to start seeing “parking assistant pro” listed on the built sheets starting in March?

Also, I have never had a bmw with the adaptive handling package but I noticed a lot of people here have ordered it. I was going to skip it on my IX but should I reconsider? Is this a must have option?

What is the estimated wait to for people that have ordered recently? Thanks!

Been to couple of dealers yesterday for TD and they are quoting anywhere between November to March of next year. Adding a caution that the war might impact those dates and this is in SoCal area.

Our present build, though we may switch to the Amido interior if/when we see it in person. The Stonegrey was impressive when we saw it. It felt modern and luxurious but I'm concerned about keeping the microfiber looking well.

Also, I'm going to assume you guys are leasing given the uncertainty about depreciation and how quickly the EV landscape is changing. Did your SA give you any estimate as to what the residual will be on the vehicle for 36 months at 10k or 12k miles/year?

The timing of this vehicle is a bit weird for me. I have a Tesla Model Y performance on order for mid-March and a Rivian R1S for 2H23 (we'll see if that is even closed to being correct). I suspect the Model Y will be a large downgrade vs. my X5 M50I in terms of luxury and suspension. 0-60 and 1/4 times (if that even matters) is not that dissimilar to my X5 m50i.

So I'm intrigued by the IX but on the other hand I plan to drive this 3x a week into NYC and worry this vehicle will be too large and too expensive to justify as a city car (which is why I started down the path of Model Y and then I'll give X5 M50I to wife to use during the week and as our nice weekend car). So maybe this will be the car I purchase instead of the Rivian R1S (and perhaps by then there will actually be discounts to be had as the supply chain eases).
Oops.

Storm Bay exterior with stone grey interior looks like a great combo!

From your photos, seems like it was a sunny day - curious if making the skylounge opaque sufficient to cut off the heat and glare? Are you considering tinting it?

This is almost identical to our build scheduled to be assembled the beginning of June.

Suprisingly, the front windshield blocks a lot of UV rays; at certain angles there is a hue or colored tint when looking at it.

The only tint I would consider is matching the front window tints with the rear windows.
Yes I believe the skylounge blocks a lot of heat. There is virtually no glare on the stone cloth/wool dash on the windshield; but I have seen pictures of the castanea red as being reflective on the windshield
