My Dingolfing iX moved to body assembly and then paint booth on Friday, right on the schedule that was promised a month or so ago.

Originally scheduled for week 11 in March, then postponed to week 14 in April. No news until this week (18). So, it is late, likely due to some components availability. It is an almost fully loaded iX 50.

As of last night, my order was in Status 182 (in other words, waiting to get on the train to Bremerhaven). Anxious to get the name of the boat it will be on, to track it to Halifax. Finally, the iX did get built this week.

So there is hope, mine went to status 150 on 3/31 and has been stuck there since. My dealer told me it is supposed to finish production on 5/17, but I haven't seen any movement. Not that I am obsessed or anything like that.

I did see a BMW article that stated they had canceled deliveries to Russia, freeing up capacity at Dingolfing, and that they had moved some production operations (wiring harnesses for example) to the UK and elsewhere. A more significant impact will be oil shortages in the EU, although the Dingolfing complex has substantially tried to "go green" so may be less affected, although no doubt some.

I had a bmw ix order in london that was meant to come in early April but got delivered early may. After it was produced, it was held up by factory for a software update. Something to do with the airbag system. Took longer than expected and was idle for about 2/3 weeks. Finally came in and I got to pick it up asap.
