I seriously am considering a very short video on this subject. I've explored many, many options and think I've landed on a few decent tips and ideas. Really, getting both in and out has required some thought and practice. Maybe I'm just dense but I don't think the methods I've landed on are that obvious.

Any encouragement along these lines would help. Ha!

I agree. And with the left leg out, keep the right leg in, bring it close to your body, and use that right leg for lift. Left elbow down, right leg in, "and then you shake it all about!" (Cue music.)

M4 vs i8

Well, stopped by a friends, and my wife met me in the M4. I feel obligated to let everyone drive it. We like it, of course it's only been 24 hours, I don't think that'll change much though.

Here are a few pics, nose to nose.

I also let just about everyone who wants to drive my i8 -- I mean, if I know them, of course. I think it's fun to toss them the fob and say, "Go for it!" These are all people I trust, of course. If something happens, alas. Life is too short to worry about everything.

When I first got the car I let my 17 year old daughter and her 18 year old classmate who drives a 3er drive it. Also, three neighbors, two of whom are BMW drivers.

Now I keep it to myself.

Have you driven an i8? If you haven't try to find one to drive. It could change your mind.

I'm pretty sure from what I've read that BMW will not make a performance i model. BMW has invested enormous resources in producing electric models made in an environmentally conscious way. A souped up i8 would counter that careful ethos that BMW has started to nurture.

The i8 is quick and fast enough unless you are going to track it. And no one should buy an i8 to track it. It was not designed as a track car and all the mods in the world to make it one will not do so.

You should consider taking up MaibuBimmer's suggestion. I've driven cars with large displacements - gobs of horsepower and plenty of torque only to find that the i8 can provide the same exhilaration with aplomb. It's rather impressive as to how much acceleration the combined forces of a 3 cylinder engine and two electric motors can produce through the exceptionally light, well balanced and nimble chassis of an i8. I was skeptical about the performance aspects of the i8 until I got behind the wheel and test drove one.

I roll out of it like getting out of bed, using the door sill as my armrest. It's the best way I know so far .

Left leg in. Slide bum onto seat. Lift right leg in trying to avoid catching that gorgious leather with right boot on the way in.

Took mine to the Isle of Wight for the weekend. The military road is perfect play ground for the i8 (roads empty early morning and great visabilty) and IMHO has so many amazing features. Why would you lose the the tax free status with a bigger motor. I had a play with a Suburu impressa and a M3 on my way home and the i8 was way better and doing 50 mpg

Ok--- I'll just throw this out there.

Anyone in the mid-Atlantic area know anyone that's on a wait list for the i8?

Some issues surfaced with my adopted brother. Nothing legal, but I want to help him out.

Doing this, I MAY want to unload the i8. It's not necessary... But it's an option.

It's Maryland State Inspected, NOTHING done to it.

Did not have time to tint it or code it.

If anyone, knows anyone that would at least like to have a conversation about it feel free to PM me.
