Can someone tell me if this i8 listed is in fact a car with the pure impulse package? I always thought the pure impulse package comes with strictly the light perforated leather interior, and not in black.

The main clues (which are not visible in pics) are:

- black ceramic shift
- i8 embossed in headrest
- i8 on door sills
- black ceramic brake with i8 label
- leather engine cover

The brakes definitely have the i8 label. Can't tell from the pics if the shifter is in black ceramic.
Can one order the pure impulse package with the black leather seats?
I always thought it only comes in the white leather.

The brochure for the 2014 says Pure Impulse is available only in "Pure Impulse Carum Spice Gray Full Perforated Leather, with special touches throughout."

Nope, not pure impulse. But some of the parts that came with PI were broke off and offered as stand alone options.

Hi, I own i8 with Black Amido leather and with "Pure Impulse Package" I don't like carum spice light leather(in my opinion only).
I ordered with Amido back leather, December production for Canada!

I hope this help, for Canadian market, many are with Amido black in Pure Impulse package, I don't why but may be we like Black leather I have personally seen 3..!

Thanks everyone for the reply. I actually went to look at the car today at the dealership. It looks like a pure impulse package car. It has everything the package states, except the white leather. It even has the leather engine cover which I think only comes in the pure impulse package and not part of any selectable stand alone option.
The car also has the black ceramic shifter, i8 on door sills, i8 label on the brake calipers.
Everything checks off except it has the black leather, with no embossing of the i8 emblem on the head rests.

Does your i8 have the i8 emblem embossed on the headrests? That's the only thing throwing me off right now.
AFAIK, I think the car can be ordered with pure impulse package AND with amido black leather in Canada, as you stated.

Nope! i8 emlem embossed headrest only available with Carum spice leather. No other leather option comes i8 embossed headrest!

I have other BMW'S and all with black on black I think you can still order with light interior however it's good to have something different. All pure impulse comes with Spice gray interior unless you order Amido.

Wait, WHAT?!?! You could order Pure Impulse with Black Leather in Canada?!??!

If you go back and read my posts when orders opened up I was super pissed you couldn't order Black Leather, in any form, in the US. It was one of the reasons I sold the i8. Ugh, BMWUSA, thanks for nothing :P

I'm way late to this discussion, and probably nobody cares anymore. And it seems like packages and available option bary greatly between markets. But the way I see it, the dead giveaway for the PI package is the blue rim insert in the steering wheel. That doesn't seem to be available any other way.
