Automatic Dimming Headlights - not

Ok, I feel like I did something wrong. Or missed an instruction somewhere.

My AutoDimming high beams don't work anymore. I press the lower button on the turn signal stalk and nothing happens. No fault. No change. Nothing. Doesn't work while high beams are on. Doesn't work when low beams are on. The idiot light on the dash doesn't illuminate.

Anyone else have this problem?

Thx.

I own no garage queens. If it's in my driveway, it's been ridden hard and put away wet. ...and now, with a light crust of Maine road salt.

Interesting. The only time it works for me is if its night time (not enough light) and the light switch is on auto. All other times it does nothing. Maybe a sensor is bad?

Hmmm... I'm pretty sure I tried it at night, with the switch in Auto... but I'll try again... tonight.

I *know* I saw it work once. But haven't been able to get it to work since.

thanks

For me it "works" but not too impressive. Itīs keen on switching off because of small lights at the side of the road, bright scandinavian june skies etc, but quite slow to switch back on again.
Besides, either my lights are incorrectly adjusted from the factory, or the high beam is the worst I experienced in many years. More like low beam on any other modern car...

Thats why both of us are looking at the laserlights, I can tell you the adaptive LED's in the X5 are marvelous. I drive full highbeams on and not a single person has flashed, excellet visibility in the night and overtaking, the problem is that the i8 highbeams are only on-off. This system never worked for any marque. I complained about this in my i8 lights are outdated post!

Yup, that was my "problem". Since I always drive with my headlights on, I never had it in "Auto" mode. Apparently Highbeam Auto requires Headlight Auto.

Thanks folks!
