BMW i8 Design and Efficiency Video

Thought everyone may be interested in seeing a recent video describing BMW's philosophy and design behind the i8.

It would be interesting to see if the tuners are able to produce accessories that would either be in keeping with and/or enhance BMW i's design and engineering concept behind the i8 and i3 (e.g., lighter and stronger replacement parts).

I don't know about the i3 yet, but with the i8 the engineer in me says everything I see, read, and experience tells me that BMW engineers spent a LOT of time and with very little compromise to make this car. So absolutely not.

This of the dollars they spend in R&D, manufacturing capabilities and actual production of the car. Who is going to match that? Looks like the i8 was a pure and very well funded project.

All things I had read previously, but very well presented in just a few minutes!

The day this much thought goes into an American car, they may be back on the map. Not going to happen, though - too many engineering generations to catch up on.

Did anyone notice, btw, how the instrument cluster graphics are different from production in this video?
