BMW Performance Center Delivery of my i8, videos and pics

I received my i8 in the middle of May from the performance delivery center in Greensville, South Carolina. Great place, great people, totally recommend to anyone getting a new BMW. So here is what happened:

Got introduced to the test i8 (they told me I was one of the first non-employee to use it on the test track).

first a 50 to 0 mph test, thanks to my girl for taking the videos!

a small loop with slalom (added some ambient music to help with the wind noise):

afterwards we got setup with an SUV, first test water (added music because my girl didn't want her voice published haha)

second suv test is popping that rear passenger wheel off the ground

finally I get to meet my new baby (music for same reason above)

this post took awhile because two days after I drove the 8 hours back home I left to Alaska and Vancouver. I only mention this because in the first 24 hours I landed in Vancouver I saw the following cars (color):
McLaren p4 (black and green)
GTR (black and white)
Bently (black, white, and grey...there was so many its like a Toyota there)
Lotus exige (red)
Lamborghini murcielago (orange)
Grand turismo (white and grey)
~2004 Ford GT (classic blue)
v8 vantage (red, white, silver)
Ferrari California (red)
r8 (white)
Gallardo (gold and black...and highlighter yellow)
Aventador (black)
....notice this amazing list for this car show city does not include an i8

I don't have many miles with the car yet but everywhere I go I feel like a celebrity. Everyone is always asking to take pictures and talk about the car! Lovin every second!

Congrats! was your PCD on 5/12 by any chance? I was also there taking delivery of my X5 and remember seeing that AY M3 and your i8.

The i8 looks great in Alpine White without the blue trim.

But I found the duel purpose bathroom / tornado shelter the most interesting thing, LOL.

I think BMW did a great job with the i8. I've seen a couple here in Toronto and every time I see one I can't stop but stare. Is it a perfect car? Not even close but it's doing what it was intended and that's bring awareness to BMW i.

Awesome car, congrats!

I was at PCD on May 11th, picking up my VO 228i, and saw the silver demo i8 outside - I even jokingly asked if they'd let me do just one lap. I must've hit a nerve because I never heard the word "no" so clear in my life before.

I like your point about feeling like a celebrity and you get to talk to so many people...enjoy that status while it lasts.

NIce! I'm jealous... I had a lot of fun at the pcd myself with my gran coupe. Will definitely do it again. Just wish I had pockets deep enough for an i8

Thats funny I live in Seattle and generally see anywhere from 1-3 a day. I would've thought the i8 would been a hot commodity up in Vancouver.

It was! They split us off into two groups and the only x5 couple i met was outside of the museum, was that you?

Freemusicarchive.com awesome site to help find free music for videos etc and to explain proper citation (i def needed help on that)
