Safety car rules and restarts call for the unlapping of lapped cars. Again, it isn't a conspiracy...it's in the rules and has been forever.

So,Wolff is now saying that Russell should have ''been more mindful of a car from his parent company'' and that ''he has lots to learn''.
Again it backs up my point that he wants to control his many PU shod cars with his own form of encumberment.
He can't be judge and jury in a situation where if a gap is there then expect someone even with a Merc PU not to go for it, someone should tell HIM that in lesser formulas, like the clio cup? he mentioned the situation would be same.
Russell has said that the overtake was definitely on so the situation that happened is squarely on BOT's shoulders.

Isnt this why the lapped cars do a lap under safety car and then return to pit lane before the restart? Are you saying Ham wasnt on that un-lapping lap?

I dont really recall seeing much of those cars going out so I cant say one way or another, I just assumed he was on it. His car was fixed by that time so I cant imagine why he would have stayed in the pits.

One thing I don't understand is that BOT 'couldn't get his tyres up to temp' because of being stuck behind others? I don't buy all of that, yet others like Russ were going with haste.

In all the kerfuffle did the timekeepers knock on a lap to hammy by mistake...

Honestly , BOT should buy this from MAX :
Look carefully , the "DRY line" where MAX ran on in the first straight . It's just a question of a few centimeters !
Let's keep in mind the next turn ( seen from MAX's side) was going to the left .
Couldn't be better to get the max. of traction ,and to take all the advantage on the inside from the next turn .
And BOOM , 3 sec. later MAX was P1 !

Buy this BOTTAS , it's reading the dry and wet lines on the track !

That's part of "RACECRAFT" !

That article adds nothing to this discussion. Its all about Hamilton's attitude of not giving up.

Yes, he went a lap down when he went off. But at the restart after the red flag, he, and several others were sent around the field to come back on the lead lap so as not to get intertwined with the leaders. Happens all the time, as others have said. Hell, even the commentators said it!
