$500/$1000 no thanks.

They barely let you push the car on track. It's 7/10's at best.
I remember back in 2010 in Tarrytown, NY I was invited for an e92 M3 event. Totally free and I got to take one out for a good 1/2 hour on my own. It wasn’t on a track but on public roads, however, I wasn’t a good boy.

I saw that, sucks. Looks like I’ll go back to NY in the fall for Monticello.

BMW Cincinnati foot the bill for me and others this past September at the Kentucky Speedway. The rain kinda ruined the fun but overall was a great experience. Had I paid $500-$1k for it I would want at least a meal out of it. All we got were canned sodas and brownies.

Same, I have only done it at Monticello.

Idk, not my car, not my brakes, not my tires, etc. I think it is hell of a bargain to experience like 10 new ///M cars
They have specifically told us that the cost to provide the service to us far exceeds the cost they charge.
The tires, wear and tear, insurance, instructors pay and travel expenses, etc.

Therefore, since they aren't passing the full costs to us, it is the definition of a bargain.

Homestead-Miami Speedway. NASCAR banked oval with a road course in the infield. The road course incorporates both the front and back straights, and is 2.18 mi. in length.

I loved the days when this was free too, but during the times at Monticello for this event, 7/10 was NOT my experience; closer to 9 for me.

If you go with a few good friends who have track experience, make you're own run group. In lead follow, we pushed the instructor hard every single time. On some of those straights we easily pushed 130+ and the instructors probably enjoyed those laps as much as we did since he had little to do but smile and high five

Yep. I actually liked it better when they charged a little for it so the imposters driving beaters did not come to the event. But at 500/1000, I'll go to a free Porsche event or some other event available in South Florida.

Homestead Motor Speedway. It's not a bad track. I just don't think the event is worth 500. It doesn't matter anyway, I'm probably not buying a BMW to replace the current ride so no big loss. If I were considering the G80, then I would probably pay for the event to really try out the car.

Might take a trip then to Austin, as BMW Driving Experience is charging € 1,990 for a 1 day BMW M Race Track Training Nordschleife Pro M4 and I don't except the boarders to open up any time soon for us folks from the States.
Have you tought about that $5000 M4 GT4 full race course training over 200 mls on the track? I think in Cali I have to go.

Timed autocross means I can go full on one hot lap?

Also the only difference between the 500/1000 package is the 1 on 1 training with the driver?

Full day gets skid pad + one on-one with pro driver. But it wasn't worth it IMO, one-on-one instruction was really just 1 or 2 hot laps in the pass seat while Bill Auberlein was driving(that was cool though but def not one-on-one instruction from a pro. I thought I'd get to drive with tips from him.

So it sounds like there is always someone else in the same car as you.
So nothing like a one day M School? Though that does cost a lot more.

Uhmm usually, but it depends. On lead-follow I was in a car(s) by myself since our group was small enough, but usually you have another driver such as yourself in the car. On skidpad you have the BMW instructor coaching you. Drag racing is all by yourself as well as autocross.

It is worth it to do the half day alone if you want to go to a track that you might never be able to get to otherwise. Like I did Monticello in NY in 2018, due to it being an awesome track which is private and SUPER expensive to join and even get to drive on, so why not drive some M cars(got to drive new F90) on a track that you wouldn't get to otherwise.

I'm waiting for the all-new G82 GT4 to be available for the German programs: https://www.bmw-drivingexperience.co...g-level-1.html

And the European boarders opening up.

Tempting. Is this something you guys would recommend for first-timers?

I would track my own car but my build isn't ready yet.

yeah, just do the half day unless the 1k is no big deal. You'll get some seat time in a car on the track and learn a little of the ropes, a good setup before trying a real HPDE day in your own car.

Yep, I did it out in Thermal after I bought my first F80 and like others mentioned above the half day is all you need but either one is definitely worth it depending on what you feel comfortable spending.

Totally worth it. I did my first one last year at Indianapolis on the old F1 course and that alone was worth the price of admission. Our group was somewhat skilled so they let us hit it hard with speeds reaching 160 on the straight. Autocross was fun too as you could drive as hard as you wanted.

M Track Days was definitely worth it back in 2017 when it was $250. Anyone know if they are still serving hot gourmet cooking meals after ?

For this price, it's a waste of money imo. I'd much rather beat on my car for a lot more seat time in HPDEs (with instruction) for much less $. Track pads and fresh SRF and our ///M cars can take good beatings just fine.
