Such a weird pairing. Extremely surprised that the BMW was able to keep up in the rolling race.

Well as they said in the video it was the quickest EV available from each brand.

I think they said most powerful. Not 100% sure but the i4 M50 might be quicker.

Yeah weird pairing. Surely a small sporty car with more horsepower is going to beat a larger people mover with less horsepower (even if more torque).

Still, we are talking about a sub-12 second quarter mile SUV and that's nothing to sneeze at. An X5M comp is right around 12s.

If someone has this expectation of a SUV, I humbly suggest they bought the wrong car.

What I (re)learned from that pointless video.

1. Launch control on the M60 is a pointless gimmick
2. Despite being someone who is cross shopping these two vehicles, I learned nothing useful.

These drag racing videos aren't meant to be super informative, they are more for entertainment.

The only real purpose other than directly comparing straight line performance between the cars chosen is to see if the stats on a spec sheet are reproduceable in the real world. Still not very useful to most of us.

Yup. And did they see if the stats on the spec sheet were reproducible?

Moving along, nothing to see here.

Well, I learned that the iX M60 is very quick in rolling acceleration - which is much more relevant for daily driving than any launch control and standing 1/4 mile time.

+1, on my first day with the M60 I had someone decide they didn't want to take an exit last second and try to merge into me. Someone was already on my left, I saw the other one coming from the right and stepped on it to get out of the way. When you do that it's like everyone else is standing still and you've just used launch control - it's not subtle.

Yup 27hp less, 500lbs heavier, and less aerodynamic. The ix did surprisingly well. Put 500lbs of extra weight in the Audi, and the BMW just may win.
Doesn't Audi make a 600HP EV SAV to properly compare?

That AUDI is one of the sexiest vehicles on the road IMO.

EV's definitely getting much more attractive and not so cookie cutter.

Not a cheap date though.
The eTron can easily hit $135k without trying hard. The RS version in this video starts north of $140k and peaks out about $165-170k

Not only is the comparison wonky because it's car against SUV. They aren't even in the same price category once you add options.

But the Audi is definitely a nice looking car. Too rich for my blood.

That’s half of their videos, it’s for entertainment nothing more…

True. At that price point, I have several other options ahead of either of these.

I bought an e tron gt and regretted doing so nearly instantly. Won't get into why I bought it but it didn't last long and I'm now in a '23 m8 Gc. They look great but it lacked what is arguably one of the biggest reasons we buy sports cars. The thrill. Zero thrills. None whatsoever. But, in fairness, it was the base model. At 105k sticker the base lacks an infinite number of the niceties you all have to come to love w your bmw.
