Thanks for your input. I just think dropping 6lbs in 2 days is a lot.

I need to focus on nutrients absorption, i think my body's nutrient absorption is poor, and this may be genetic. For instance i dont eat bread, pancake or cakes simply because my body has a difficult time digesting it.

If i eat bread, i will not poop for almost a week. Also, every now and then, my digestive system will get completely blocked (no bowel movement for days). In the past, i will take Laxatives to push out the constipation. But i stayed away from those. Now, i simply drink prune juice or drink a lot of citrus drink (orange juice, lemonade or grape fruit juice) those help push the bowel too.
Sounds like you might need some more fiber and more water. Most people who think they get enough water should really drink more (myself included)

Constipation is a symptom of dehydration. It's the cheapest and easiest way to work at solving the problem

For fiber I like beans, nuts, Rye bread. Learn to love Broccoli. Squash has a lot of fiber. Oatmeal and quinoa are good fiber sources too

My wife made a kale, red beet and quinoa salad the other day for dinner. I literally was shitting the entire next day.

Well, I'm going to get my motivation back. Going into the gym today at my normal time around 2. Should be interesting.

Damn, not #2 for a week?!?! I feel weird if I only #2 once a day.

One of the things I think helped me was if I fucked up I would just pick it up again the next day and start again. I really tried hard to not let one bad meal or a bad day or even a few derail my overall effort.

Anyways at some point I stopped. My weight since then settled at around 250lbs. Although I havent been on the "diet" my experience counting calories has made me a lot more mindful of the calorie content of what I eat and I think it has helped me maintain that 250.

However recently I started gaining weight, with a bunch of family issues and work changes I have really not been motivated to do anything. But starting last week I'm back on the plan, I ate pretty good all of last week except for the weekend. This week I have been on point thus far. I would really like to get to at least 200 although it's definitely getting harder the more I lose. Currently shooting for about 1600 calories per day, I try to go a bit low because honestly I'm guessing for my lunch as I always eat out.

So... it's not 5% body fat, but that's my story and that's my goal 50lbs by next year.
Thanks for posting your story man. It will be motivational to people in your situation because you have proven that with a little time and patience, it can be done. A couple of key points I want to make. Firstly, congrats on taking that initial step to drop weight, and continuing to jump back on the wagon when you fall/fell off. The first step is almost always the hardest, and your diligence paid off. Well done man! Secondly, you get it! When people typically think of calorie counting, it's always associated with something negative. Approaching your consumption in the manner that you did has made you more cognizant of the calorie content of food, and has allowed you to more or less maintain your weight loss. A second "Well done!" to you man. Your current weight gain could be stress/cortisol related. As those family and work issues work themselves out, you will likely find that your motivation will return. Add a brisk 20 minute [fasted] morning walk in the morning a few days a week along with continuing to monitor your diet, and the weight/inches will continue to come off. It does slow down the longer you're at it, but that's where the mental focus really plays a part in this game.

It is completely normal for your weight to fluctuate from day to day by a few pounds and there are numerous reasons why this may happen. Honestly, you'll drive yourself crazy if you chase that number so frequently.

What would be better is to only weigh yourself once in the morning and that's it for the day. Before eating, before all that jump on the scale. Further to that, if you're not trying to hit a single digiti BFP, I think that weighing yourself one morning once a week is enough to be able to track your weight trends over the long term.
I agree with this. My weight will easily fluctuate five pounds at various points in the day depending on water retention, how much I've consumed, how 'heavy' the food is/was, etc. Sometimes certain foods will cause me to retain water over multiple days, so Boss, some of that weight is likely artificial. I'd track your progress not only by the scale, but by the inches you've lost. I used to suggest to my clients to stay off the scale unless I was the one weighing them, and instead, try something like this:

....Find an article of clothing that fits you tight (..a t-shirt, boxers, briefs, etc.), and try it on to ensure that it is still fits snugly. Take it off, and store it in a drawer for 30 days. After that 30 days has elapsed, try on that/those same article(s) of clothing again and take note of how much looser it is on your body. Sometimes your weight may not change significantly, but a half inch reduction off of various areas of your body makes a HUGE difference in the way your clothes feel and fit.

Have you considered trying something like the Paleo diet? Also, have you checked to determine whether you have a gluten sensitivity or a light case of Celiac's?

I go a least 3 times a day. If I only go once (..extremely rare), I start wondering what the fuck is up, and it makes me analyze my diet. I can't imagine not going for days. Many women that I talk to tell me that they only go every other day or every 2 days. I'm like !!!!! I'd feel all types of uncomfortable with that sitting in my body for multiple days. Thank God for regularity.

That's what I'm saying! I usually have it down to in the morning before work, once after work, and then the third is typically sporadic on its own terms. I don't understand how anyone could feel comfortable not going for more than a day.

I thought today was going to be the day too. I got up at 8am went to the living room to power up the xbox one for a session xbox fitness before hitting the gym for some weights. The tv comes on while I wait for the thing to load and Gorky Park is on. 30 minutes has gone by it's getting pretty good. I put some leftover pizza in the oven then it's noon.

To avoid any distractions, my coworker and I have an agreement that whoever is the reason we don't make it to the gym, they have to buy lunch the following day.

I'm cheap, so that's enough motivation for me to never be the one to ditch out on the gym.

When it comes to inches, i'm the same, i didnt loose anything. My shirts still fit the same. So you're right, its just artificial weight then.

It's just frustrating that i'm trying to bulk up a little bit, instead im loosing.

"Bulking up" can often be accomplished by slimming down. The leaner you are [with a decent muscle base] the bigger you look.

That's about the only pro to my slimness, I think my form looks better than if I weighed what I'm supposed to weigh.

I'm going to take my first progress picture today.

So, the motivation of posting worked. I had an appt. to go deliver/install a computer at 7:30. That was my excuse to not do my run, didn't have time to eat and run and shower and get there. Instead, as soon as I got home I checked my sugar and needed a boost. Slammed a soda and started stretching. Ran 2.3 miles in 24:17, which is the second best time for July. I USED to do this same distance in about 21, so I have some work to do. My short term goal on this 2.3 is to do it without walking. Came home and dinner was almost ready. Screw the people, I didn't smell all that bad, and they are a family of runners so they would understand.

Today my son has baseball practice next to the track. I'm going to do some intervals and time the 50 and 200.

I use the walktracker to get my times/distances. I saw that when I crossed 12:00 I was at 1.30 miles, so the first item on the test is OK.

Boss, how good is your scale? I know there are time where I can gain/lose almost a pound just by taking a second reading right after the first. So it's just a rough gauge for me.

Also, don't forget that old adage that muscle weighs more than fat. If you look the way you want, how much the Earth sucks you to the surface isn't REALLY all that important.
